New York Licensing Show Day 2 THE WRAP

p6190097.JPGimg_4526.JPGimg_4532.JPGimg_4524.JPGimg_4523.JPG

Back home now as I write this. Every day at this show was an event and opportunity of extraordinary proportions. Met great people who create excellent products. Stuff like this… www.flexerciseworkout.com and of course www.jadatoys.com. Jada rocks!

Check out the shot of us with Mr. Yellow M&M. This lady was so overwhelmed taking pictures for other people with the yellow candy that I thought it best to get a shot with HER! Ah, NY. Awesome city.

And Indian Jones 4! Check out the Movie Slate below….

New York Licensing Show Day 1

img_4506.JPG img_4505.JPGimg_4504.JPGimg_4508.JPGimg_4510.JPGimg_4512.JPG

Wow, what a trip. Great Show with huge energy and fantastic people. …And SERIOUSLY cool vehicles. My pen was flying at lightning speed for autographs at certain points, but the highlight was discussing opportunities with great companies. Howard and I met with EVP Bob McPhee, Deb Pearson and Rebecca Davies of KABILLION. (www.kabillion.com) Super neat prospects there. Check the site. Way cool.

Also, FIRST LOOK at the motorcycle from the upcoming Batman sequel DARK KNIGHT and poster from IRON MAN. YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST FOLKS! And a Speed Racer Mach 5 mockup. Looks familiar…

All in all, Day 1 went to 9 on a scale of 10.

Eat right, or else…

kie0-v4×1hu-8sub5xd3ckr6pb8dfywv0280.jpgYea, here I am in a New York Hotel Room. Manhattan. 5pm. Howard and I are here for the New York Licensing Show. But,… last night I ate something that literally didn’t like me. Not to be graphic, but the bathroom is now my new best friend. Ug.

And in the throws of pain and nausea, my wife Kathie took it upon herself to send me a care package of pain relieving materials. What it is exactly, I’ll not get into, but the point is I have the “World’s Best Wife.” And I feel better already that I have someone who loves me enough to take care of me from 3000 miles away. And she’s cute, too.

As for the show, tomorrow it begins. Out of control meetings with tons of people. AND IT’S GONNA BE GREAT! Stay tooned…

Fireballed!….music?

Ah, heck yea!

Just another example as to why Peter Boesen’s SOUTH BAY MINI Dealership is unique. Summer brings their “Concerts Under The Stars.” And this time with Superstar KENNY LOGGINS. Kenny put on a fantastic concert of his greatest tunes with backup from some talented performers.

Afterwards, Kenny spoke with myself and Fireballed Agent Leo Leichter. And to top off the evening, Andy Limon brought in chocolate from Hawaii. (Did you know that the only chocolate grown in the states comes from Hawaii?)

Got to hang with the crew including Cory and Teresa Thies, Brian and Teresa White, (and insane daughter Heather with boyfriend Nick), Dr. Fuh and his family and Leo and his wife Barbra. (She’s cool…) Great fun.

It’s with tremendous gratitude and appreciation to Peter at South Bay for giving back to the Mini/BMW community. Not a cheap event, folks.  Thanks, Peter.

And did I mention that the Fireballed WIDOW just dyno’d at over 500whp. THAT’S 600hp in a STREET MINI!!! Stay tooned for a write up coming from EUROTUNER and BIG NEWS from MINIUSA.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL DADS!!

Life gettin’ to ya…

lightning-1.jpg

Yea, it does. Sometimes life just plain seeps under your skin and wrecks the day. But it’s in the afterthought where realizations occur. To be grateful that it didn’t get worse. Hubie and I changing the starter on the Mach 3, finished after several hours only to see a puddle of antifreeze pooled below us. What does the starter have to do with antifreeze? Only then you realize that shifting the header has caused a ruckus. Engine bites appearing all over my hands, a warm reminder that it could be worse. So,… I’ll give thanks to what I SHOULD be thankful for.

Hubie’s expertise and patience.  Brian coming to Malibu to pick up the car. And,… a chance to learn, ……..again.

We all have challenges. And since the only constant in this world is change, challenge never cease. And that’s good ’cause if there were no challenges, life would be pretty darn boring. And THAT, is MY four letter word.

My dog is snoring…Time to join him.

Fun @ Huntington Beach…

get-attachment-1.jpegimg_4456.JPGimg_4467.JPGimg_4475.JPG img_4479.JPGimg_4472.JPGimg_4453.JPG

Weekends are for what? FUN! Well, actually weeks are for fun, too, but rarely do we get to have fun ALL the time. Unless,… you dig cars. And since cars is what I do, I guess you could say I have fun all the time…

And this last weekend was no different. Got a call back a while from my buddy Bob Shaw at the Huntington Beach Concours. Yea, time again to roll out the BIG DOGS and show off the shiny sheet metal on the most B E U tiful cars on the marble. And that we did… www.hbconcours.org

Only this year it was TWO DAYS! Cool. And along with Bob Amaral from MOALA and all the carkooks at the  staff, they put on an awesome show. I hung out with CarKooks like Austin (Who won the Hot Rod Design Contest), Juan Flores who won the DreamCar Contest and SuperCarKook Bob Shaw! Yea, he and I are standing next to that Red Hot Cooper S. THAT GUY IS HYSTERICAL! I mean, there’s not many kookier than Bob…

But the Cars, Man. The Cars! Turns out was supreme with tons of winners in all different classes. Even the Fireball won! Ok, it was third, but my car had a couple of smudges that I missed. (Guess I need to grab a couple more Meguiar’s Girls)

Special thanks to the entire HB CONCOURS group for their time and commitment to a fantastic show. You guys are the KOOKS! (Have I said that too many times now?) WHATEVER!

ONWARD KEMOSABE!!!
