Machines of ACTION…
This is my family. Out for the day to celebrate my Mom’s life. We did what she loved to do, by going to Nate & Al’s Deli in Beverly Hills for a massive sandwich. But these people (excluding myself), are Machines of Action. You wouldn’t know it by what they look like, but the creativity in this little package packs a huge punch. (Probably why I like MINIS…) Let me give you an example…
On the left, next to me is my wife Kathie. A self educated Costume Designer, having build thousands of costumed characters for film and TV. (www.kclproductions.com). She’s also a new Black Belt as I’ve mentioned, 30 year surfer, world traveler and most importantly, one who gives more than receives. The most extraordinary trait a human can possess. And she’s mine. Next to her, my father Tony. Anthony Lawrence, as the industry would know him. A screenwriter with several thousand published pieces for film and TV. An icon. He, again, may not look like much holding that cupcake, but check this out… A Martial Artist under Chuck Norris, wrote Bonanza, Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Hawaii 5-0 and hundreds of other series that most of you have seen. Plus, raised 5 kids on one salary, badass ping pong player, sculptor, poet and literary genius. Someone a new writer would aspire to be. But again, and most importantly… a man of action and means. Always gives far more than he received.
Then, there’s my brother, Ethan. Looks like me with his stunning features. (Ok, slight exaggeration.) Another incredible writer, specifying in Horror, occult and the occasional totally off the wall shows. Small Town X, The Pretender.. and currenty, something I’m not allowed to talk about. Also a Martial Artist, Tennis Badass, Buddy to William Shatner I’m now told (Known as “The Shat.”), one helluva gardner and again… a man that gives. His ideas and concepts are not to be taken lightly. A true Machine of Action.
Then, there’s Dee. Denitria Harris Lawrence. Ethan’s wife and now a MegaProducer/ Writer. I’ve watched Dee grow from being a great writer to someone of supreme talent. Has a new show on with Holly Hunter and has written her butt off for the last 25 years to make a name for herself. A Woman of means and a clear plan to bring fruition. Her writing affects people all over the country. And that, is a gift not many possess.
Lastly, my sister Jordana. A creative juggernaut. Yea, she’s small, but stand clear. A WREAKING FORCE OF NATURE I’d call her. A tremendous Director of Theater with untapped talent that world has yet to see, and is seeing. Notice the electricity coming off her??
To be blessed to have these people as my family is not worthy of simple words. I only share this to express that I have a choice. A choice to see the good in them. We all have faults, but the good is a road less traveled. And that has ALWAYS made the difference…
Never stop looking for the good in all you meet. And watch what good comes to you…

What is PERFECTION…
As I stood at the foot of my Police MINI being shot by UK mag MODERNMINI this past week at CinemaVehicles, I began to notice things I hadn’t noticed before. Small details on the car that bugged me. Kev, the photographer snapped away as I began to wonder… What is Perfection?
As with most things, perfection is interpretive. Each of us would describe it differently. But, I guess the important thing to realize is that nothing is ever REALLY perfect. And it’s important to be okay with that. Does perfection mean that you’ve done everything right? Balanced exactly the way you want it? It may be, but in time, things change …and so do we.
I welcome being wrong and making mistakes, even though they may be painful. And some are REALLY painful, but mistakes are how we grow. And growth is good. We learn by taking our experiences and honing them down to what is best extracted.
Don’t get me wrong. My MINI is rock solid bitchin.’ And it will make an awesome article because ModernMINI knows how to do it up right. So, the question becomes, what do I do next that’s better? Where to I go from here? Well, no one knows just yet (And if I did, I wouldn’t tell;-) but one thing’s for sure, whatever it is… it will be perfect. At least… for a little while.
The World needs to be DESIGNED…
…And with passionate students like the ones from the new Transportation Design School I spoke at this morning, it looks like we’ll be having some unique stuff coming. My friends John and DJ started a design school for inner city kids, with the intention of opening their minds to new possibilities. Ideas that some kids might think are impossible. …But these kids know different.
I come across a lot of young minds throughout the country wanting to know more about design and what they can do with what they love. Which is why I do these CREATE INSPIRE EMPOWER Seminars. When you discover that the world is full of possibilities and there are no limits but just the ones you create yourself, then amazing things begin to happen.
Thanks John, Art and DJ! Thanks for asking me to come down and see these geniuses at work. But, BIG thanks to the kids for having me! Keep it up and see how your life unfolds…

Be an ENTREPRENEUR…
Wow, that’s a hard word to spell without a DIXSHUNARRY…
What does it mean to be an entrepreneur? Basically, it’s someone who runs around doing all kinds of cool things, thinking up cool stuff that he’d love to do, and inspiring others to do the same. Or something like that, right? Now, I design cars, do silly TV and web shows, talk to kids around the country and preach about health. Things I like to have in my life and figure out a way for you to do the same. Case in point…
Fireball Fuel. I created this Nutritional Product with Biometics for a lot of reasons. Most people would say that I just wanted to make money. Well, I won’t lie as money is a factor in all our lives and we need it to survive and do more of what we love. But if that were the case, I could have created candy bars, and honestly make MORE money. But the real reasons for creating something healthy is this…
You can’t enjoy yourself if you feel like crap all the time. Technical enough for you? I mean, people are sick. Really sick. They eat terrible and wonder why they never have any energy. Plus, when you feel poorly, you think poorly. In fact, some would say that feeling poorly is a direct result of thinking poorly. So, I got together with my friends at Biometics and said that we really need to create something that makes people feel good. And when you feel good, you can do more.
Honestly, the message here is simple. And the picture is larger than it seems. I don’t really care if you buy Fireball Fuel. What I want you to do is stop treating yourself like a trash can and dumping crap into it. This is the only body you’ve got and like you car, if you put in bad stuff, you get bad performance. Simple. So, if you have a product that you like and it works, good for you. If you’re looking for something, then get out there and find it. Whatever it is. And then share it with everyone else.
I love cars. But more than that. I’d love to hear that you’re taking care of yourselves.
And back to being an Entrepreneur, Fireball Fuel is set up so that you can sell it yourself as well. A chance to give people something that makes them feel good. Plus make more money so that you can take that trip to Aruba. get in on something that makes a difference in the right direction and for the right reasons. That will cause you to “think” in the right way.

It’s time we hung @ KABILLION!
So, there I was, minding my own business when WHAM! I ended up on KABILLION!! How did this happen? Well, it all started when my wife was hired to build a few cool costumes for Mike Young Productions and Taffy Entertainment. We hung out there a lot doing cool stuff and one day, the subject of cars arose.
Then, CUT TO… SLAM! My mug ends up on Kabillion, hangin’ with wee kids and having a great time. If you’ve never been there, then talk to your kids. Chances are, they have. The greatest sight for kids to create their own hang out and goof around. And now, I’ll be hangin’ there too! Just wait ’til you see cool CAR stuff is coming!!
Being GRATEFUL…
Many would consider me lucky. But luck to me, is a term used to describe something outside of yourself. I believe that things happen the way they do because of our choices and our ability to think right.
Choices are a cause set in motion, which in turn, brings an effect. Look to where things are not working in your life and examine the way that you are thinking about them.
I try, every day, to replace my negative thoughts with positive ones. The more I practice this, the better I get. And the quality of my choices get better, which, brings me better things! So luck? If you know how to work this principle, then your outcome is all that matters. And that, is up to the way you think… and I’m grateful that I can share that with you.
And now, I think I’ll make myself a cool protein drink for the day. Off the Cinema Vehicles for a photo shoot with the STC Car. Stay tuned for a great article coming from ModernMINI Magazine!!
ReinCARnated??
This morning, I headed to the set for a new upcoming show. I CANNOT say that it’s called “ReinCARnated.” I CANNOT say that it has to do with cars and it’s with Producers Dan Woods and Chris Hall from “Chop, Cut, Rebuild” and “Street Tuner Challenge.” AND, I absolutely CANNOT tell you the significance of the photos at hand.
As in, “Why is that BUG and FERRARI so important?” As in, “Who’s the famous Celebrity with her entourage?” As in, “Why do I look like a lame tourist from Oklahoma?” (Cool hat, though…) SO, if all goes well, you’ll get find out this fall… he, he, he…
Don’t be a baby and make a DIFFERENCE…
That’s what my parents always taught me. Get off your butt and do something worthwhile. Something that will give back. And whatever it is that you choose, do it the absolute best that you can.
A lot of things got pushed off this past week due to family matters, but I did manage to go to the Cawthorn School in Cypress, CA for a great experience. My friend, Summer, teaches a class there with some really special kids. We got to talk about many great things and I got a chance to see how bright their futures are. Many of them want to be artists and since the world is full of creativity, they’ll be able to do whatever they want.
CREATE• INSPIRE• EMPOWER is the name of my Seminar Lectures. You’d think that kids wouldn’t understand, but it’s just the opposite. They understand better than adults. All they want to is what they love to do.
If you have a school, let me know. It’s one of my favorite things to do.
Houston is GOIN’ OFF!
Back from filming my new MyRide “World of Cars” episodes with my crew of CamermanDan and OllieBentley AKA “The Photodude,” I’ve had a chance to reflect on the wild people of Houston, Texas. Passionate about cars to say the least, but unique as well… (Uh, CamermanDan is the one wearing the leg warmers…)
Coming in the next few weeks to MyRide will be an episode about the DELOREAN MOTOR COMPANY. Yes, Super cool DeLorean info… with Texan secrets. PLUS, we had a chance to hang with the folks at the Houston Art Car Parade. Some of the most insane vehicles to date! Parade expert Robin Wagner told us all about it and knows a heck of a lot about crazy cars!! There was a bazillion people there and about 250 entries. Kind like SEMA, only completely different.
Weather was a perfect 91 degrees with about 95% humidity. BWA!! BUT, we had a great time filming, and the episodes are gonna be outrageous!!
