Chicago DAY 2… Food Galore

Ok, so when you come to Chicago… it’s about a lot of things. But one of them is the FOOD. And that seemed to be the only thing we did yesterday. From our morning coffee to lunch at the Chicago Diner and all the way to Bandera for dinner at 8:45. (I’m usually in bed by then, duh.) But it was Kathie’s brother Tommy who was celebrating his birthday, so we had Banana Cream Pie. Which, btw way did me in. I was done.

The real reason we were there was to celebrate Kathie’s Mom’s life. She passed a year ago and the new tradition is for all of us to meet here once a year. Kathie memoralized her by carving some cement a year ago on Belmont Street between Lake Shore and Halstead. If you ever find yourself there, check it out.

But we hit “the bean” in Millenium Park, saw some cool sites, almost went ice skating (whew!) and watch some awesome Christmas Carolers.

Also got to meet Susi’s new boyfriend Ed. (Susi is Kathie’s Sister and Ed… is now, well… Ed) Very nice guy who’s a lawyer turned Poet/Writer/All around nice guy. That’s what happens when Lawyers decide to love life instead. Cool.

Bed by midnight and now it 6:30am. Off for another adventure…
