Chasing the COLORS… by The Daily Driver Project

Lately, I have been trying to get to shows earlier than I have in the past.

If they will let me in, I’m trying to get there by sunrise. But why sunrise? Because I’m chasing the colors… the beautiful colors, the fantastic light that you find at sunrise and sunset. Since most car shows start early, it’s all about the sunrise.

For me, colors have always been a challenge. I’m red/green color deficient or ‘deuteranopes’ as it’s called. There was a time when I wanted to do something in the arts, but it would be kind of difficult to have clients that wanted anything that puts those colors into play.

So my career path changed, but I still wanted to be creative and then photography came into my life. A place for me to express myself and share my love for hot rods, customs and all kinds of other vehicular contraptions.

One of the things I had to learn was to trust the camera, my computer screen and that what I was seeing. I had to learn to just trust and accept.

Learning to trust my equipment and myself, I have started to push what I do. I have started to chase the colors, search out the things that always made me a little nervous.

You have to learn to find what you love, to chase after those colors, to pursue your passions and own your idiosyncrasies that make up who you are.

(Editor’s Note: This is a great example of someone expanding their comfort zone to learn and grow. What could you do today to push beyond your limits and give the world something beautiful? Win the Morning… Win the Day.)
