Design Review… 2019 RAM 1500 LIMITED CREW CAB 4X4

I… love… this… truck.

Ok… there’s my review. Just kidding. There is a lot to love about this truck and I could go into a thousand details, but as I’m a Car Designer, let’s focus on the language…

For most trucks, there’s pros and cons when it comes to design. But for the 2019 RAM 1500, I can’t seem to find the cons… yet.

I only had this truck for about a week, but the clue to it’s success was in the fact that I didn’t want to send it back. It screamed sexy… I mean, look at that interior!

Sure, Chevy and GMC make great trucks too, but this RAM is killin’ it in the design arena. Proportionally, the truck feels perfectly balanced, strong with its 5.7l V8 Hemi, incredibly comfortable and equally relaxed in going to the worksite or to the Academy Awards.

It’s a$70K masterpiece… so far. And although the exterior is a sexy sculpt, it’s really the interior that shines with its huge screen and amazingly clear features. It’s a Truck Cockpit… or a TrukPit. But whatever you want to call it, you DON’T want to get out of it.

If I could only figure out a way to attach Star Trek Nacelles to it’s hind quarters, it would be instantly Interstellar. And although this truck gets a near perfect 10 on a scale from 1-5, there’s still one thing that’s a concern. And that is… it gets only 19mpg.

Sure, the world is going to hell in a hand basket right now and buying a gas guzzler isn’t necessarily the best option for some, but if you’re in the market for a truck… this is it. Unless you have a $3500 budget, I’d suggest a Subaru Outback if you can find one… or if you have $100K and in no rush, you could get a Cybertruck from 1989. For me… it’s the perfect porridge.

Live Long and Prosper RAM 1500… and let’s get that EV Mojo goin’ soon so the world can get a little sweeter.
