SURFERS, exiting gracefully…

We’ve had some bid swells this summer here in the Bu. Wild stuff. And frequently when I’m not in the water, I like to shoot surfers doing what they do and this includes my wife. But in the last few weeks, as I was shooting with my nifty SONY A77, I came upon a pondering. As I looked out across the sand, there were other guys with cameras shooting the same thing I was! THIS CAN’T BE! Slightly different angles, but all looking for the same “hero shots.” Like, that had to change…

So I asked myself, “What can I shoot that would be different?” And suddenly, like a burnt brick to the noggen… it came to me.

Everyone has to kick out, right? But not everyone does it gracefully. So… my mission began to shoot the best of the exit. And I was dumbfounded as to how many there were! I mean flabbergated! Undulated! Fartfegnuted! Each dood had his own style of getting out of the wave and that meant lots of shots. We all know (if you surf), how to kick out of a wave. But that’s the controlled way. So lame. THIS, was a bit more challenging. And I had to capture the “instant moment.”

Sure, I got a lot of other cool shots that should be in SURFER MAGAZINE. But, these were the golden nuggets of the day. And that brings me to this. Since I’m going to be the King of the Capture when it comes to exiting a wave, if you see me on the beach, be ready. I will shoot you in the moment of your contortion. Just sayin.’ And then… it’s to the Malibu Patch and THE WORLD!

This could be good…

It’s SATURDAY! HAWAIIAN TROPICAL PROTEIN SMOOTHIE – MALIBU VEGAN KITCHEN 003

HAWAIIAN TROPICAL PROTEIN SMOOTHIE – MALIBU VEGAN KITCHEN 003 – In this 3rd episode on Health is the new Wealth, Kathie makes an amazing Hawaiian Tropical Protein Smoothie that rocks!

From WIKI… Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state to have joined the United States of America, having received statehood on August 21, 1959.

Hawaii is the only U.S. state located in Oceania and the only one composed entirely of islands.

It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. Hawaii is the only U.S. state located outside North America.

The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian archipelago, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles (2,400 km).

At the southeastern end of the archipelago, the eight main islands are—in order from northwest to southeast: Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, Maui, and the Island of Hawaiʻi.

The last is the largest island in the group; it is often called the “Big Island” or “Hawaiʻi Island” to avoid confusion with the state or archipelago.

Hawaii’s diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, abundance of public beaches, oceanic surroundings, and active volcanoes make it a popular destination for tourists, surfers, biologists, and volcanologists.

Because of its central location in the Pacific and 19th-century labor migration, Hawaii’s culture is strongly influenced by North American and Asian cultures, in addition to its indigenous Hawaiian culture.

Hawaii has over a million permanent residents, along with many visitors and U.S. military personnel.

Hawaii is the 8th-smallest and the 11th-least populous, but the 13th-most densely populated of the fifty U.S. states.

It is the only state with an Asian plurality. The state’s coastline is about 750 miles long, the fourth longest in the U.S. after the coastlines of Alaska, Florida, and California.
