Now, what you see here may be nonsense, but these have been touted as SMART CAR OVERALL BODY KITS. Are they real is anyone’s guess until I investigate more. But, ARE THEY FRIKKIN’ COOL, OR WHAT!!???
I’m seriously thinking about playing with the Smart Car soon, and things like this make them highly unusual, but we’ll see. But with names like SMARVETTE, SMERRARI, SMARCHE, SMARBORGHINI, and ELESMART I’m collecting every one! (I wonder if they come Blisterpacked??)
If anyone finds more info, shoot it to me!

WHAT?

I’ve seen some of these before. Pretty sure they are all photoshop jobs.
But it would be cool to turn a Smart into a Porche!

They ARE psd’s. Although they could be done, they would cost a fortune. The most these could ever be are RIDEMAKERZ. The big givaway is the BIG BRAKES.
But it does beg the question about Smart Car potential?

Here a good choice for an electric car .
Gut the drive train and slap in one of those
Dodge ZEO set-ups in there, You’ll probly
have to name it the Flying Four , or
Fantasic Four , but a think that name is taken,
But I agree the Smart and MINI are the Future,
Now if they can just get that Electric MINI
off the Drawing Board, We Might have an
a Electric Smart Four as a side kick for it

Errr.. They are not all PSD’s!! The last one with the model in it is a bodykit you can buy. It’s a Shelby kit that fits on the smart, we featured it a while back - I think a firm in Sweden produce it.
While the kit’s look cool - you’d have to include the bike engine to give it that extra kick!

Wups. Forgot about that one. The car is real, it’s the model that’s fake. Or, maybe it’s just part of her that’s modded?
Anyway, right on, James.

The first 5 cars are really cute and were done by someone who is a pretty good photo-shopper, and a pretty good car designer too. There are four give-aways though: 1.The cars are all too low to be Smarts. 2.The wheels and brakes are all too large - notice car 6, the real Smart, is tall and has the standard Smart wheels. 3.The driver position is much too close to the windshield. 4.The Porsche Carrera GT has Porsche ceramic brakes and monobloc calipers; no way that would fit on a Smart. It is also being driven by the great rally champion Walter Roehrl, a consultant to Porsche who would not be driving such a Smart.
Finally, the stone wall to the right of the orange Lambo has been pieced together very poorly in PhotoShop, as has some of the foliage to the left of the car.
But… they are cool.

Yep, they’re Photoshopped. Note the position of the fuel filler cap - it takes more than a body kit to move the gas cap from the upper left, right above the wheel, to any other location shown in the “kits”. The “SMAUDI” (not shown here, but viewable elsewhere) is the most telling - the gas cap there is near the roof, right side, behind the wheels, right where it is on the original car. Right where it can’t be in a SmartCar without crossing the passenger compartment.
