I guess I got up this morning,… only to go back to sleep again later.
Recharge. A full week of “on the go” requires a day of recharging. Case in point, here’s my pooches “recharging” and using me as a bed. I’m kinda lumpy, so not really sure what’s so great about this…. BUT, they seemed to be happy.
Took a hike, went for a stroll on the beach, chilled and read. Good book by Prentice Mulford. Check him out.
TOMORROW! It’s Father’s Day and it’ll be rockin!!! Heading to the RODEO DRIVE CONCOURSE d’ ELEGANCE! Big buck rides and tons of pops walkin’ with thier kids and wives. Photos afterwards.
Have a great Father’s Day to everyone!

Special thanks to host Dan Woods from Speed Channel’s CHOP, CUT, REBUILD and superstar pinstriper “Styles” for joinin’ me at the HB Show. More shots below!!

Wow, the HB Concours show was an awesome success. (Although, it rained as I brought in my cool orange CVS caddy…) Hot Rod Saturday was a bit light but Sunday was a record crowd of car nut jobs! I think the entire city of Huntington Beach showed up! Here’s some of the tasty highlights, but thanks to everyone that came out, like DB, John Callison, Dan Woods, Styles and many more for the sun and cool cars!!

Living here in Star Central Malibu, I get a chance to see some incredible things as well as incredibly creative people. I’m especially proud of this young girl who I’ve watched for a few years become not only a true inspired artist, but an equally inspired person.
My friend Dominique Wuth Sanders (The one on the left) had a great turnout for her new show at CANVAS. A neat store here that has great products and provides a way for artists to display in a creative and unique way. (The owners on the right) Dominique celebrated the opening, as well as her new marriage to cool Movie Composer Buck Sanders. Buck (circled) just completed KNOWING with Nicholas Cage. A great film, btw.
Dominique’s art was light and spirited with visions of levity in perfect execution. 2D and 3D works were displayed throughout the gallery, infused with color, passion and images of wandering scarabs (and not-so-creepy crawlies) just looking to be on their way. My favorite, “Buck Goes to Hollywood,” seemed to touch everyone in a airy sense of wonder, envisioning a bug fearlessly heading across a canvas of mint to encounter the unknown. A perfect color choice, evoking a calm and serene sense that really says what Buck brings to Hollywood. After meeting him, it’s a statement of truth.
Nice job, Dom. Your art is only surpassed by your humbleness and cheer for those that absorbed the work as being a feeling of beauty and grace.

Been too busy for the past few months to do a really good show. But come, June 6th and 7th, we’re back! Welcome again to THE HUNTINGTON BEACH CONCOURS d’ ELEGANCE. And since I’m the Grand Marshall, I get to do stuff. Stuff like have celebrity guest builders and designers join me to discuss cool cars for you guys. Plus, check out the flier I did for the fact that Mini is 50.
It’s a weekend of fun, food and cool cars. Come join me!

Okay, so my buddy Alan and I wnet to the Petersen Automotive Museum last weekend or so to hear a talk about weird cars. But it ended up being a talk about green technology… to which none of these cars have. But… this is the Petersen. And if you know this museum, it’s got some of the coolest cars on the planet.
Check it. I’d lay my tush into any one of these rides. Wonder if they’d trade for the bag of gumballs I have in my office. They’re only a year old, but the flavor really lasts.
I’m just sayin.’

That’s always a good question for me. Yesterday was my 44th birthday. I’m as old as we’ve had Presidents.
So, it begs the question. What did WE do? Well, up until about 11am, I had no idea what Kathie was up to. A surprise. It started out like any other day as my eyes woke up at 5:30am with my dog, Sammy, licking my nose. But from that point on, the day was a big question mark.
Since Kathie knows I love cars, she rented a really cool one for the day. A Bentley? No. A Lamborghini? Nope. Not even a Ferrari. She went out and rented a Toyota Yaris for $31 bucks. ZOWIE!!!! And boy, did we have fun!!!
Off we went south for about 1/2 hour to our favorite coffee place, The Rose in Venice. The best coffee on the planet and lots of star sightings to boot. Any stars today? Not a one. It was MY Birthday. Kathie was treating my like a star with great Granola!!
Then? Off we went south about 2 hours to a small town called Encinitas. If you’ve ever heard of Encinitas, then you know that it’s famous for the surf spot SWAMIS. But, we weren’t going surfing, dangit, ’cause we were in a Yaris which is 5 feet shorter than my longboard. Where were we going?
Well, one of our absolute favorite places to go in Malibu is Paramahansa Yogananda’s LAKE SHRINE. One of the most beautiful places in the world and a fellowship we cherish and give. Meditation Gardens, a Lake and waterfall. (More on that later) But in Encinitas is another of the Guru’s locations. Much different because it overlooks the ocean.
East Indian religion is not religion. It simply just teaches that all we need to succeed is inside us and no where else. You just need to bring it out. And walking through the gleaming and beautiful gardens did just that. A state of peace that is now forever in my Birthday memory.
Plus, ….we saw some cool and not so cool cars…. 4 and 4 = 8. And you know what THAT means? I get to be 8 years old again!!! COOL! Off to the movies today to see FAST & FURIOUS 4! Let you know how it is.
Happy weekend everyone!

Birthdays are cool. Anyone’s birthday. A chance to get together and get a picture with everyone having a good time. And, with crazy hair. (I need a cut, ya think?) It was my Mom’s birthday this past week, so we hung, ate and did the birthday thing.
She would have enjoyed the Chocolate cake I made. (I know I did!) But, this is my family. At least part of it. My brother, Ethan to the left, then my Pop… Tony, my wife Kathie behind him (With Bug and Sammy) and Ethan’s wife, Dee. No, Sammy isn’t Dee’s hair, duh. Then,… um, …my hair.
Birthdays + Cake = Cool. Plus,… dishes. Not so cool.
Happy Birthday, Mom.
There’s a time to be serious, and there’s a time to,… well,… go to SEMA and ’cause trouble.
SEMA+Adventures+with+Fireball!!
If you haven’t noticed, db and I are taking a short hiatus from THE HOLLYWOOD CAR SHOW. There’s a lot that goes into that show each week and we need to catch up on other things for a bit. Db is in Vegas for a show and I’m developing some new projects. But, we’ll be back soon with the show, no worries.

Yea, sexy sculpture… the best of The Village Coffee Roaster Show last Sunday.
