Another great creation from CINEMA VEHICLE SERVICES. A lot of concepts were done for this one including what you see here. The “ATTACK KITT” was revealed at the 2008 Comic Con in San Diego. Let’s hope the show looks as good, eh?
I just came back from watching DARK KNIGHT. Despite its length, that movie was severely intense. I’ll go more into it on next week’s “HOLLYWOOD CAR SHOW” Podcast, but for now, here are some cool upcoming flicks. Hope to see a lot of you at MINI Takes The States tomorrow at the famous Rose Bowl!!
Yesterday was a big day. My company, FIREBALLED!, finalized a deal with CINEMA VEHICLE SERVICES to create something extraordinary. Press Release will come soon, but I believe that if you put it out there, it has to come back. No matter what. It’s the Law.
I’ve known Ray Claridge at CVS for a very long time. A Man of worth, sincerity and and extreme value. Not many like him around. He does what he says, always on time, and there is nothing false about him. His crew is the same. Bob, Oscar, Amy, Sam and the rest. Which is probably why for the last 35 years, he’s built virtually EVERY movie car on the planet. Oh, … if you’re not familiar with CVS, hit the link. In the next few weeks, you’ll see some cool changes to the website. Some serious Fireball action will begin to appear. Because, as of yesterday, my new home for cool designs and cool builds will be CVS.
Yes, we’ll have tours. Yes, we’ll have SEMINARBQS. Yes, we’ll have an entirely new program for LIMITED EDITIONS and yes… my playground just grew to over 100,000 square feet. Design, Fabrication and EVERYTHING in between. Just you wait and see what’s coming….

YOU CAN’T ASK ME THAT!!!
Based on the photos, this new show coming from the Producers of “CHOP, CUT, REBUILD” and “STREET TUNER CHALLENGE” is the next BIG thing. Kind of like NASCAR meets DOLLY PARTON. Well, no. …Not actually. But would you believe, TOM CRUISE in a FAST AND FURIOUS movie? No? How about FIREBALL TIM and the crew saying shhhhhhh….. We like to call it “THE NUNA SHOW.” As in, Nunna Ya Dang Business… until Fall, at least!
As you may know, I like secrets. In fact, EVERYONE likes secrets. So, for the time being as we film, this is a superdoooperreallycoolsecret typa secret.
We’ll tackle small things like Area 51 and such. But no big deal. Oh,… and with cars, …duh.
This is my family. Out for the day to celebrate my Mom’s life. We did what she loved to do, by going to Nate & Al’s Deli in Beverly Hills for a massive sandwich. But these people (excluding myself), are Machines of Action. You wouldn’t know it by what they look like, but the creativity in this little package packs a huge punch. (Probably why I like MINIS…) Let me give you an example…
On the left, next to me is my wife Kathie. A self educated Costume Designer, having build thousands of costumed characters for film and TV. (www.kclproductions.com). She’s also a new Black Belt as I’ve mentioned, 30 year surfer, world traveler and most importantly, one who gives more than receives. The most extraordinary trait a human can possess. And she’s mine.
Next to her, my father Tony. Anthony Lawrence, as the industry would know him. A screenwriter with several thousand published pieces for film and TV. An icon. He, again, may not look like much holding that cupcake, but check this out… A Martial Artist under Chuck Norris, wrote Bonanza, Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Hawaii 5-0 and hundreds of other series that most of you have seen. Plus, raised 5 kids on one salary, badass ping pong player, sculptor, poet and literary genius. Someone a new writer would aspire to be. But again, and most importantly… a man of action and means. Always gives far more than he received.
Then, there’s my brother, Ethan. Looks like me with his stunning features. (Ok, slight exaggeration.) Another incredible writer, specifying in Horror, occult and the occasional totally off the wall shows. Small Town X, The Pretender.. and currenty, something I’m not allowed to talk about. Also a Martial Artist, Tennis Badass, Buddy to William Shatner I’m now told (Known as “The Shat.”), one helluva gardner and again… a man that gives. His ideas and concepts are not to be taken lightly. A true Machine of Action.
Then, there’s Dee. Denitria Harris Lawrence. Ethan’s wife and now a MegaProducer/ Writer. I’ve watched Dee grow from being a great writer to someone of supreme talent. Has a new show on with Holly Hunter and has written her butt off for the last 25 years to make a name for herself. A Woman of means and a clear plan to bring fruition. Her writing affects people all over the country. And that, is a gift not many possess.
Lastly, my sister Jordana. A creative juggernaut. Yea, she’s small, but stand clear. A WREAKING FORCE OF NATURE I’d call her. A tremendous Director of Theater with untapped talent that world has yet to see, and is seeing. Notice the electricity coming off her??
To be blessed to have these people as my family is not worthy of simple words. I only share this to express that I have a choice. A choice to see the good in them. We all have faults, but the good is a road less traveled. And that has ALWAYS made the difference…
Never stop looking for the good in all you meet. And watch what good comes to you…
As I stood at the foot of my Police MINI being shot by UK mag MODERNMINI this past week at CinemaVehicles, I began to notice things I hadn’t noticed before. Small details on the car that bugged me. Kev, the photographer snapped away as I began to wonder… What is Perfection?
As with most things, perfection is interpretive. Each of us would describe it differently. But, I guess the important thing to realize is that nothing is ever REALLY perfect. And it’s important to be okay with that. Does perfection mean that you’ve done everything right? Balanced exactly the way you want it? It may be, but in time, things change …and so do we.
I welcome being wrong and making mistakes, even though they may be painful. And some are REALLY painful, but mistakes are how we grow. And growth is good. We learn by taking our experiences and honing them down to what is best extracted.
Don’t get me wrong. My MINI is rock solid bitchin.’ And it will make an awesome article because ModernMINI knows how to do it up right. So, the question becomes, what do I do next that’s better? Where to I go from here? Well, no one knows just yet (And if I did, I wouldn’t tell;-) but one thing’s for sure, whatever it is… it will be perfect. At least… for a little while.
So, there I was, minding my own business when WHAM! I ended up on KABILLION!! How did this happen? Well, it all started when my wife was hired to build a few cool costumes for Mike Young Productions and Taffy Entertainment. We hung out there a lot doing cool stuff and one day, the subject of cars arose.
Then, CUT TO… SLAM! My mug ends up on Kabillion, hangin’ with wee kids and having a great time. If you’ve never been there, then talk to your kids. Chances are, they have. The greatest sight for kids to create their own hang out and goof around. And now, I’ll be hangin’ there too! Just wait ’til you see cool CAR stuff is coming!!
So, there I was. Minding my own business when I get an email from ModernMINI Magazine Editor, “UK Phil.” And he says, in his amazingly BritishWeb accent, “Hey, you wanna write for us?” And I say, in my amazingly calm and relaxed American accent, “ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!”
So, beginning in July, moi will be a contributing writer for ModernMINI, the absolute best new MINI mag there is. Although it’s out of the UK, the info, photos and quality of the mag is nothing but top notch. Better than anything out there. I’ll be telling them all about how cool is is to be driving American roads in a Crumpet Rocket, how MINIS are used in movies and stories about YOU. So let me know what’s goin’ on and I’ll let them know. You never know, you know?

Yup. Them’s is the word, folks. In fact, I’ve already started the new concepts with Cinema Vehicles. Now, most of us agree that KN should have been a Camaro, but Ford stepped in and voila, Kitt is now a Mustang. It is what it is and I will do my best to make it awesome.
The image above was the first iteration for the pilot. It looks good and was designed by a very good and talented designer. But, there will be a new evolution, and it’s happening now for the Series. Some things you’ve never seen a car do, period. Photos coming as soon as they say it’s ok, (as well as PR) but for now, info is all there is and I’ll be flogged if I reveal any more.
