Movie Car success at CBS!

Wow, what a cool day of shenanagans. (Is that spelled right? Like, does it matter?)

It’s pretty wild and fun to see a movie car at a show, but to see 30 of them at once was over the top! Way early, I headed to CVS to pick up my ride (The Fast & Furious Charger) and join up with several guys there. My buddy Bob brought in his original TV Series General Lee, Frank in the F&F Hot Rod Truck and a Tango & Cash beast.

We hung out all day at CBS with the likes of Adam Carola, Autoweek supereditor Mark Vaughn, KABC’s Dave Kunz and even Sophia Loren! Yes, she digs cars. (And no, I didn’t take a picture with her, but shot our new episode.) That will premiere at the end of the month. But, big thanks to Ken Latka and Tim Wong of TMPCC for hosting and Nate from Star Car Central for bringing the bad boys of movie cars. So, nuf’ of the wurds… On with the show…

Fireball’s Autoinspiration #2 Imagination

Everyone loves concepts. New cars that come out reflecting wild visions of future rides, future hot rods you want to build and concept art from film. But why?

We all want to be “inspired.” Being inspired leads us to action. The best kind of action. And in action, we create and manifest our lives in positive ways.

I get tons of emails from car people showing me their latest rides and concepts. That inspires me to always push the envelope. You guys keep “me” going. With our day in and day out lives, our only true escape is imagination. It’s why we like going to movies, watching “good” TV and socializing. Ideas make us use our imaginations creatively, then we work out plans to make those visions real. And the best part is that we share it in lots of ways. But they arent’ just cars.

We are all designers of sorts. You can design a weekend, a trip to Europe, a canyon run, clothing, an evening dinner. We draw, build, go to car shows, create, watch what we hope will be something good at the movies, just plain have fun to use our imaginations and build “our lives.” Something to make them better. My hope is that my books help to do that for you.

These books give a bit of background as to how cars for film are envisioned. But since it costs so much to buy things nowadays, I decided to create ebooks so that everyone could have them cheaply. Super cheap. They cover designs for “Gone in 60 Seconds,” “Batman,” “Green Hornet” and even Weapons like the H2Obliterator and the EMOdistruptor. I’ll keep ‘em coming as long as you guys want them. Check ‘em out and let me know what you think.

Being GRATEFUL…

gremlinyellow2.jpg

Many would consider me lucky. But luck to me, is a term used to describe something outside of yourself. I believe that things happen the way they do because of our choices and our ability to think right.

Choices are a cause set in motion, which in turn, brings an effect. Look to where things are not working in your life and examine the way that you are thinking about them.

I try, every day, to replace my negative thoughts with positive ones. The more I practice this, the better I get. And the quality of my choices get better, which, brings me better things! So luck? If you know how to work this principle, then your outcome is all that matters. And that, is up to the way you think… and I’m grateful that I can share that with you.

And now, I think I’ll make myself a cool protein drink for the day. Off the Cinema Vehicles for a photo shoot with the STC Car. Stay tuned for a great article coming from ModernMINI Magazine!!

If you live in LOS ANGELES…

eagle.jpgpanther.jpg

… you absolutely have to like driving. If you don’t, then life here can and often is miserable. And so began my atypical day…

Morning meeting with a new partner involving a new web project. Met at the City Bakery, where Conan O’Brien and Ron Howard were having coffee. Not with each other at first, but after some quizzical looks, they hit it off and began chatting. My partner and I did so as well.

Then off to Hollywood to meet on a new TV Show. I’ll leave it a secret for now, as I’m not going to jinx anything, but let’s just say it has to do with CARS. LOTS of CARS!

Back out to Malibu because, like a moron, I forgot something important for my next stop, CINEMAVEHICLES. But before I hit North Hollywood, I met my brother Ethan for coffee to discuss his new show. A very cool ANIME SERIES. He’s Executive Producer and is in the middle of casting. Young girls. He’s got a rough job.

Next stop, Cinemavehicles. The new home of some cool Fireballed vehicles. The STREET TUNER CHALLENGE MINI is now among some of the most elite movie cars in history. Nestled between the ECTO 1 and ELEANOR. Soon to be tuned more,… and more.

Then, back to Malibu to discover a massive accident has shut down PCH. Grrr. So, off to Coffee Bean I went to chill and make calls. Man,… it’s only Tuesday.

Tomorrow, off to SONY to deliver an Eagle and Panther. A what, you ask? Yes, I design a lot of things, including wearable animals for movies…

Southern California BLUES…

 santamonica.jpg

Why would anyone want to live in a place like this…

Southern California, if you’ve never been here, is really a tough place to hang. I mean, blue sky and 75 degrees in February. Ok, as if that doesn’t raise the mad jealous factor to 10, nothing will. But here’s the point…

Choice. …as in we all have them daily. It may seem that when the world is against us, we don’t. But we do.

It may seem impossible when we look at a mountain of debt and the how’s seem unsurmountable, we don’t. But we do.

A wise man once said, “Just take the first step, you don’t have to climb the whole staircase.” That man was Martin Luther King.

Live where you WANT to live, not where you HAVE to live. And you’ll find a way…

Back to the funGRIND…

So, it’s with excitement and eagerness that I get back to the world of fireball and see what’s goin’ on. I hope everyone is having a great holiday so far! What did you get? POST IT HERE, or send me a photo and I’ll stick it up! fireballtimride@aol.com

I got a number of really cool gifts from Kathie this year. A new Fireball Shirt (photo coming), some great books by Charles Haanel (yess, in the never ending search to improve myself) and a couple of huge surprises that I will be revealing soon. She also gave a me a scrapbook featuring my doggie, Bandit. Yes, I cried. But now, Bandit is running the beaches of heaven. Pooping wherever he wants. And round every corner is a new Chef with a new treat. Ahh, the life.

I gave Kathie some cool clothes that she wanted, exotic coffee and a few other doodads. But here big gift was a reverse of the big gift she gave me. Once again, to be revealed. Don’t ya love secrets?

But now that the gift giving is over, it’s my job is to see what Hollywood is doing next. My new FIREBALL SLATE is coming, but for now… I’ll be keeping you up to date on my activities. From FAST AND FURIOUS4 to INDY4 to FINAL DESTINATION4 to JUSTICE LEAGUE. I talk to all the Productions, so you’ll never know what’s coming. For now, just enjoy this…

INDY’S BACK…

Cheers to the little guy…

It’s not that I love small cars. It’s not that I like the fact that small cars dart and weave like go-karts. It’s not that I don’t have to carry a lot of crap. It’s that small cars are always considered the underdog.

I grew up as an underdog. Freckles. Glasses. Target on my chest. Getting picked on and cornered was a daily grind. Something about being different was what scared people. THEY wanted to be different too, but somehow, they were just them. The fact was, we were ALL different. Some accepted what they were earlier than others, some never got it. But, if you were different, you got hassled. So, … I took karate.

It made me feel better. Stronger. More confident. And trust me, with MY face, I needed all the help I could get. But being small stayed with me. To this day. I’m, say, 5′9″ or so. Medium frame. Freckles, glasses, modified target saying “Take your best shot and see what happens.” Not that I’m a badass or anything, in fact, I’m just the opposite. I learned to fight so I wouldn’t have to.

Small. It’s cool. But, seeing as how much I love cars… ANY cars, being small and powerful is a state of mind. Packs a large punch. Like a Habanero. A WaterBug in your pool.. ouch! A rubberband snapped to the inside of your armpit. Or,… a 500hp MINI. Or ANY small car for that matter.

Being small is where large things come from. Appreciate it. Even an Oak Tree was a seed.

Revel in your smallness. Even if you’re tall, YOUR seed was tiny, too.
