‘5MINUTE DRIVE’ featuring Hollywood Stuntman, Jeff Jensen!

Malibu is full of cool Hollywood Peeps, and it’s my job to find ’em, stick ’em in a cool car and go for a spin. This week, Hollywood Stuntman Jeff Jensen in a 2013 Malibu ECO. “Fall down, pick up Check.”

CHEVY MALIBU ECO lands at the Fireball Pad!

Who! 37mpg! This is not what I expected from the Malibu when it landed here. I didn’t expect it to be comfortable like a Caddy or Sporty like the Camaro… or with a trunk that fit all my 8 bags of Trader Joe’s gobbly gook. Oh, did I mention I had beach chairs, bag of dog food back there, too? And still, with room left over?

Today! Filming an all new 5MINUTE DRIVE with legendary Stuntman, Jeff Jensen! Check out his insane list of credits. We’re gonna jump that Malibu over the Malibu Lagoon!

Ok, maybe not. But Jeff’s busted his knee 18 times, so that’ll be fun to talk about…

Malibu Weekend of CARS… and Bikes.

As always, up in town on Sundays is a veritable feast of show and shine at the Cross Creek Center. Just doods and doodettes having Joe and bringin’ cool stuff. And since it was my Birthday, we headed up before the Birthday Bash to see some great rides. Even hung for a bit with Stuntman and buddy Jeff Jensen. Got to see his Custom built BMW Bike, plus a few ol’ skool Alfas… Check it…

A day for the BOOKS…

dvd-high-speedWoke up about 5am to the sounds of sirens coming up my street. Plopped themselves right next door at friend, Jeff Jensen’s house. You know Jeff? We interviewed him on THCS months ago. Remember his story about being a Stuntman/Director¬† for the last 30 years? “Fall down, pick up check.” Well, after 17 surgerys on his know, he broke his own record. Now it’s 18. Poor guy, he was in severe pain.

After helping the paramedics with getting him down 3 fleights of stairs, we loaded him into the ambulance. This guy is tough, but breaking a femur is serious, and he did a great job. They took good care of him. For support, send you wishes to THCS blog posts and we’ll forward them on to him.

In the afternoon, I had lunch with my Pop and his buddy, Harold Gould. Who’s Harold Gould? Old time actor with a credit list a mile long. Funny guy. Then, I was off to give a Seminar at Ventura College.

Big thanks to Barbara Harvey for setting up the Seminar with the students. They were awesome.

Startin’ off with a BANG…

Movie Premieres are always a dicey thing. Especially when you head out for an hour’s drive through the worst traffic possible, only to be disappointed. But, in this case, I had a chance to see a new film that really was spectacular. Jeff Jensen’s “THE FIRST, LAST RACE” was an extremely well made documentary about one man’s challenge to overcome the false thoughts of age, physical pain and a grueling challenge to prove an inner strength, inspiring all those that watched.

Jeff was on our show a few months back, talking about the making of THE FIRST, LAST RACE and we had a great time with the interview. But the sheer challenge of what he went through wasn’t clear until I saw the film last night. Jeff rode a new Ducati over 1400 miles from California to Colorado to enter The Pike’s Peak Race. The second oldest race in the country. Did the race, coming in 9th, then rode the bike all the way home. All this, with a broken leg, at 50 years old and a host of Stuntman pain related issues.(Knee surgery 17 times!) Not to mention he wrote, directed and co-edited the dang thing…

His career is extensive along with his friend’s, Paul Lane. (Pictured here with his wife, Julie) Kathie and I had a fantastic time at the screening, once again proving that true film making is about people overcoming incredible challenges.

The film will enter festivals and hopefully get distribution. Nice job, Jeff. …You inspired us all.

ffposterToday, I’m grabbing one of the cars from Fast and Furious for one heck of a weekend. Friday brings a Premiere of a new film, “The First, Last Race,” from my buddy Jeff Jensen which we had as a guest on THCS a few weeks back. Saturday is a Smart Car Event HERE, Sunday is the VCR Show and Sunday afternoon is a cool Oscar Party.

So, I’m gonna roar this beast all over the place. And if I get a chance to meet up with any of your at the shows, ask me what I’ve got in the trunk. No, no dead bodies this time, but I’ve got free shirts!

Ok, maybe a couple of corpses… but I didn’t put them there.
