About CIGARS from WIKI… Cigar #tobacco is grown in significant quantities primarily in Central America and the islands of the Caribbean, including Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Panama, and Puerto Rico;

…it is also produced in the Eastern United States, the Mediterranean countries of Italy and Spain (in the Canary Islands), and in Indonesia and the Philippines of Southeast Asia. unique cigar box

The origins of cigar smoking are still unknown. A Guatamalan ceramic pot dating back to the tenth century features a Mayan smoking tobacco leaves tied together with a string. Sikar, the Maya term for smoking, may have inspired the name cigar.

A unique cigar box is a box container for cigar packaging. Traditionally cigar boxes have been made of wood, cardboard or paper. Spanish cedar has been described as the “best” kind of wood for cigar boxes because of its beautiful grain, fine texture, and pleasant odor.

Eucalyptus and yellow poplar have been popular substitutes that were sometimes stained and scented to resemble it. Other typical woods for #cigarboxes include mahogany, elm, and white oak; less-popular are basswood, Circassian walnut, and rosewood.

There are several types of unique cigar boxes, differing both in construction and purpose.

Cabinet selection, slid-lid or hinged lid, typically storing 25 or 50 cigars 8-9-8, round-sided box with three layers, counting 8, 9 and 8 cigars respectively.
Flat top or 13-topper, two layers with 12 on bottom and 13 on top

Boxes of box-pressed cigars, stored two layers with same number of cigars.

Unique Cigar boxes, labels, and bands are considered a subject of art, with businesses specializing in them and books printed on their design, meaning, and significance. As a result, cigar boxes and their corresponding labels can be considered collectible items.

This episode… Fireball heads to the Malibu Arts Festival in downtown and then hits Gladstones for grub.

The MALIBU ARTS FESTIVAL brings out the best in everyone… #art #artist #sketch #paint #malibu

Each year, the Malibu Arts Festival snags artists from all over the state to share in a couple of days of community beauty and fun. It’s really a great show as the only thing better than the art is the people. So, I grabbed my 3 favorite Malibu Babes (Bride of Fireball, Janine Waldbaum and Hannah Mulholland) and we set out to scour for coolness… And coolness we found.

Very grateful to have met these folks and you should check them out asap, either at the show or at their links below.

Some spectacular sculpture from SILVIA CHAIT conveyed a tremendous sense of tranquility as we stood there talking art… for about 1/2 hour! She was awesome and cute as all heck. Other top artists were ROBERT SHERMAN WILSON with his wild, wacky and joyful paintings (This dude knew color)… TIME McCLENDON’S incredible metal sculptures that were bright, passionate and cheerful (Even if one looked like an exploded slinky! They we extraordinary)… MICHEAL KELLEY’S framed mirrors and furniture expressed a very unique and timeless architecture, perfectly executed. You gotta get one of these! (kelley3@roadrunner.com)

NOBE’S Sculpture of the Bull and Child, King Kong and more were bronzed masterpieces (Just one conversation with him and you could feel the genius)… Art by KALEO brought us back to Universal Truth with his collection of Soda Pop Positive Art (SOda awesome!)… A super BIG dollar bill carving by STEVE GOMEZ made me want to make a Table of Prosperity to ensure the flow of dough… and finally a stunning piece of Swimming Leopards by WAYNE WEBER BAUER. Color, Texture and Depth. These guys were the best of the best…

If you want to see the real deal, then head to the Bu this weekend for some eye popping emotional art and take home something to make your pad perfect. It’s just the thing to bring coolness…
