MOTOR PRESS GUILD design event goes off at the Petersen…

The other night, I attended an event for the MOTOR PRESS GUILD featuring awesome designers for various car companies. BMW Designworks, VW, Kia and my good friend Derek Jenkins, Chief Designer for MAZDA. (Derek has a Dune Buggy that’s insane, but more on that later…) The discussion involved the differences between Asian, European and American design philosophies, although the guys discussed cultural differences regarding cars, too. It was cool. They all have some great designs coming…

We chowed, checked out the new Aerodynamics Exhibit at the museum and talked with the press.

A day with FISKER…

Went to a Motor Press Guild event yesterday with my Lt. Max to see the FISKER up close. Director of Vehicle Integration, Bill Tally gave an inside look as to what the company is about and let us drive their cool EV’s. Fun for all, but I think I need to get one of these for a week to really put it through the Fireball test, eh?

Food was good, though.

MPG Event with Jay Leno, Dan Gurney and Brock Yates…

Great event last night at the Petersen Museum for the Motor Press Guild, celebrating excellence in Automotive Journalism. The Dean Batchelor Award. This happens once a year where everyone picks the best in the business. And the winner for this year…?

Brock Yates.

A tremendous individual and spokesman for all things cool automotive. A huge historian and advocate for automotive enthusiasm. Hung out with the likes of super racer, Dan Gurney, Jay Leno, Hal Needham, Matt Farah from The Car Show, Paul Schmucker and Greg Lawson of Everyday Driver and many others.

Big thanks to Richard James of GM… Now for some Caddyness….
