DID YOU KNOW?? Mel Gibson’s “Mad Max” journey is packed with interesting tidbits. Initially, he wasn’t even the first choice for the role, and he wasn’t overly attached to the character by the time of “Mad Max 3”. The original movie had a small budget, and Gibson even played Max for only $10,000. The film crew faced challenges like a lack of funds and weather problems, but they also had some lucky breaks, like a stunt that was initially considered a failure actually turning into a great shot. And the filmmakers often shot scenes day for night because they wanted to avoid using headlights, which could attract unwanted attention in the wasteland.
And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… The Ball hits the Benedict Castle Concours and spots JOE MAGLIATO’S HOT ROD, a vintage shot with Fireball and Mentor SYD MEAD, on the lot at WARNER BROS with a Concept Cadillac and Fireball’s STC Mini from the TV Show, with ROBOT ACTION!
