DID YOU KNOW?? Emma Peel, portrayed by DIANA RIGG, was a popular character in the British television series “The Avengers.” She was known for her intelligence, martial arts skills, and witty banter with her partner, John Steed. Her husband, Peter Peel, was a pilot who disappeared over the Amazon and she joined Steed after his presumed death. Diana Rigg was also the first actress to portray a female martial artist on television. And she famously renegotiated her pay after the first season, securing a significant raise!
