The real story of the CRUELLA de VIL 1931 Bugatti REVEALED!

In the dark and gloomy heart of London, amidst the bustling streets and elegant facades, the name CRUELLA de VIL struck fear into the hearts of all who knew it. Her presence was as dark and foreboding as the shadows she cast, her desires as twisted as the curls in her black, white and red hair.

But beyond her malicious schemes to procure Dalmatian puppies for her ghastly fur coats… lay another obsession—a fascination with luxury and extravagance. And it was in the depths of this obsession that her path crossed with a unique legendary Bugatti Classic Car. The 1931 BUGATTI TYPE 41 Royale Weinburger Cabriolet. (In the film… the 1974 Panther De Ville coupe) And today… it’s Fireball’s SKETCH!

Legend had it that the Bugatti was once owned by a notorious aristocrat who shared Cruella’s penchant for the macabre. The car had a dark history, rumored to have been used in smuggling operations and clandestine dealings. Its sleek lines and roaring engine were as captivating as they were ominous, a perfect match for Cruella’s own sinister allure.

Driven by her insatiable desire for power and prestige, the pompous Cruella de Vil set her sights on acquiring the Bugatti. She spared no expense, employing every nefarious tactic at her disposal to manipulate and coerce until, finally, the car was hers.

But the Bugatti was more than just a symbol of wealth and status—it was a reflection of Cruella’s innermost desires. Its sleek exterior masked a darker truth, just as Cruella’s glamorous facade concealed her twisted motives. And just as the Bugatti’s engine roared to life with a deafening howl, so too did Cruella’s ambition to fulfill her wicked plans.

With the Bugatti by her side, Cruella embarked on her quest to steal Dalmatian puppies, her obsession fueled by the power and thrill of the chase. The car became an extension of her own malevolence, a symbol of her relentless pursuit of perfection, no matter the cost.

But as Cruella sped through the streets, her laughter echoing in the night, there were whispers of a darker force at play—a force that transcended even her own twisted desires. The car was ALIVE… And had it’s OWN PLANS for her. But that… is another story.

BONUS SKETCHES!! Badass Bugatti, Woodie and Mr. Bond Car Art

Today’s BONUS Custom Car Art SKETCHES blanket a lot of Kulture… And, as I always say when people ask me “What’s your favorite CAR??”“It’s the one with four wheels, baby!”

FIRST UP is the BUGATTI CHIRON. A serious Hypercar with a serious $1.5M price tag. “I’ll take two please, with a side of fries. But hold the Dooshbaggery.”

Hypercars are stunning peices of CAR ART in themselves and I’ve drawn a lot of them. But as I SKETCH, I try to get into the heads of the original designers to flush out their initial inspiration for the direction of the design. And that can tell me a lot for how I approach the background. Should I make this one available on a CANVAS PRINT? You let me know.

SECOND is this stunning 1950 FORD WOODIE WAGON that was the cover art for my Woodie Coloring Book. It belongs to friend Rick White and is aptly named RUBY. If you’re in the Socal/Ventura area, you’ll see Rick pokin’ about town.

THIRDLY… and from the set of James Bond’s DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER… the 1971 FORD MUSTANG MACH 1. This is in the Garage here and will be followed by a lot of other sketched Jimmy Bond Cars. And he’s had A LOT. But which one should I do next??

Don’t forget that MUSCLES & MOJO is TOMORROW!! C’mon down!

BONUS SKETCHES! Speed Racer, Bugatti & King of Car Design…

Today’s BONUS SKETCHES vary from Fireball’s Characters of Coolness. First up is an unused sketch from the film SPEED RACER called the “Border Patrol” which was a dropped sequence as the film concepts were being developed. Still would be a crazy intimidating build and might be cool for a Canvas? What do you guys think?

Followed by Fireball’s BUGATTI VEYRON SKETCH for those wishing to enter into the Hypercar Universe, but $1.5M is a bit too much. Ug. Let us know if this belongs on a MUG or if Fireball should whipsnap a COLOR Version!

And finally comes today’s featured COLORING BOOK with the “King of Car Design,” FRANK STEPHENSON. Snag one at Barnes & Noble!
