AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE is vast here at the FTG… and today’s no different starting with Fireball’s HAWAII 5-O MERCURY MASTERPRINT! Jack Lord whipped this baby around the Islands to put an end to Crime… and they shuddered when they saw him coming. TAKE A PEEK!

DID YOU KNOW?? The term “Five-0” is a slang term for the police. The nickname comes from Hawaii being the 50th state to join the union. While it’s not accurate, the nickname became popular with fans and is still used today. JACK LORD lived in Beverly Hills when he was asked at the last minute to read for the part of McGarrett. He read for it on Wednesday, flew to Hawaii on Friday, and was in front of the cameras the following Monday!!

Also on today’s HULA-HOOPIN’ BLAST… Fireball snaps with CORKY COKER at SEMA, On Set for ESCAPE FROM LA with the Copter he designed for the film, Island Girl MARY ANN from GILLIGAN’S ISLAND was a fan favorite, FIRST SHOT of Fireball’s new SEMA MUSTANG CONCEPT built by PROJEKT CARS and with a Dragon by HEATHER EDWARDS! (This car premieres NEXT WEEK AT SEMA!)

PLUS, a BEL AIR SKETCH, the reason we love FIATS, a Classic CADILLAC from CAMARILLO and Fireball’s JL Diecast! He’ll be at the VEGAS DIECAST SUPERCON in February! Check out the GUEST LIST!

Today’s Episode is a liquid fast LOTUS EVORA!! WATCH!

Fireball drops all-new Mercury HAWAII 5-O SKETCH!!

Certainly one of most people’s favorite shows, HAWAII 5-O was the epitome of Cop-Driven Series and aired for 12 seasons on CBS from September 20, 1968 to April 8, 1980.

Each week, we’d watch with excitement as Fireball Pop wrote 9 episodes of this series and the STORIES were truly unique. But a Cop Show in HAWAII? I was so there…

With titles like “THREE DEAD COWS AT MAKAPU,” Pop sure got a lot of digs from us kids, but we loved every minute of it… especially the cars like this 1968 MERCURY PARK LANE BROUGHAM.

Today, we celebrate the Series, tough guy JACK LORD and Fireball Pop who just passed away at 96 last January. Over 3500 published pieces in Television and Film History. Guy was a writing fool. Check out the tons of HAWAII 5-O coolness in the Garage NOW and let me know what you want to see next!

DID YOU KNOW?? HAWAII 5-O was the longest-running police drama in American television history, and the last scripted primetime show that debuted in the 1960s to leave the air. Hawaii Five-O, so named because it is set in the 50th U.S. state.

From WIKI… Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state to have joined the United States of America, having received statehood on August 21, 1959.

Hawaii is the only U.S. state located in Oceania and the only one composed entirely of islands.

It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. Hawaii is the only U.S. state located outside North America.

The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian archipelago, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles (2,400 km).

At the southeastern end of the archipelago, the eight main islands are—in order from northwest to southeast: Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, Maui, and the Island of Hawaiʻi.

The last is the largest island in the group; it is often called the “Big Island” or “Hawaiʻi Island” to avoid confusion with the state or archipelago.

Hawaii’s diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, abundance of public beaches, oceanic surroundings, and active volcanoes make it a popular destination for tourists, surfers, biologists, and volcanologists.

Because of its central location in the Pacific and 19th-century labor migration, Hawaii’s culture is strongly influenced by North American and Asian cultures, in addition to its indigenous Hawaiian culture.

Hawaii has over a million permanent residents, along with many visitors and U.S. military personnel.

Hawaii is the 8th-smallest and the 11th-least populous, but the 13th-most densely populated of the fifty U.S. states.

It is the only state with an Asian plurality. The state’s coastline is about 750 miles long, the fourth longest in the U.S. after the coastlines of Alaska, Florida, and California.
