DID YOU KNOW?? The “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” Seaview Submarine was designed with a futuristic look far beyond the capabilities of real submarines at the time and the show’s model sets and interiors were incredibly detailed and expensive to create. The series often featured colorful uniforms for the crew, deviating from traditional navy attire; with later seasons even incorporating a “flying sub” for underwater exploration storylines. Oooo, do a FLYING SUB, Fireball!!

VETTE BOOK HITS, Batman, Fireball Origins, Barrister & Pinup

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE! Wow, 2024 has wrapped with a BANG here in the Garage, and with so much CAR COOLNESS!! To celebrate, Fireball has just launched his all new VETTE COVER ART for the Vette Coloring Book! All Motor, baby!! Just one of several NEW BOOKS coming this first month of 2025! Check ’em out HERE!

DID YOU KNOW?? The first Corvette was a concept car that debuted at the 1953 Motorama in New York City. It was a low, sleek, two-seater convertible with a fiberglass body. The name “Corvette” came from a small, fast class of warships. Super badass ones! But the ’53 Corvette had only two options: a heater for $91 and an AM radio for $145! Cheap! It was produced under the code name PROJECT OPEL and was an American take on the British sports cars of the era. And it’s STILL… the world’s longest-running, continuously produced passenger car! Zoiks!

Also in today’s VETTE-TAKULAR BLAST… ON SET and Behind the Scenes of the original 1966 BATMAN shows the boys gettin’ ready at Bronson Caves, Fireball’s CAR SHOW People in all their automotive glory, the SIGNAL Hawker Sea Fury was a race Plane flown by Fireball’s Uncle Mike Carroll and was the original “Fireball,” George Barris’ BARRISTER was built for A-Lister JAMES CAAN, ‘nuther Fireball PINUP ART named “RITA,” Coloring Book Art with the BUGATTI VEYRON & CAMARO COVER ART, Behind the Scenes of BATMAN RETURNS reveals Michael Keaton on set… and Fireball’s BATMISSIBLE ART! Also… a Color Comp that Fireball did for Jim Cameron called “CAMERON: THE FIRST 25 YEARS.”

Today’s GARAGE EPISODE features the Classic 1955 HUDSON ITALIA!! WATCH BELOW!

THE BATMAN, Twin-Charged Lighthouse and a Kustom Chevy C10

I get a lot of requests for BATMOBILES as there’s a lot of fans out there for THE BATMAN. And that brings up the question as to what the next film will bring? As you guys know, I did one of the first back in the 80’s and it was a great experience, but the Bat’s gotta evolve. Today, it’s a new MASTERPRINT of the last Batmobile from Robert Pattinson’s THE BATMAN. Known as THE BATTINSON. In flames of course, along with a more elegantly evil Harley Quinn. Pretty sure that Cruella is here SECRET SISTER, eh?

DID YOU KNOW?? The Batman’s Batmobile is a Modified Muscle Car. It’s not quite a perfect match for the Barracuda, as the prop car is likely a custom body, but the resemblance is pretty close. Being so specifically based on an existing car is unusual for recent Batman appearances and sets Reeves’ The Batman movie apart.

Also in today’s blast, Louis Armstrong’s original Classic Cadillac out of the Official WRENCH NATION Coloring Book, some Fireball Friends chuggin’ “the juice” and a Twin-charged LIGHTNING LIGHTHOUSE for those times when ships need a little extra help. You should see the Garage it parks in!!

BEST OF SHOW is this HOT, HOT, HOT 1967 CHEVY C10 spotted in Conejo Valley! For a Love like hers, I’d beg, borrow or STEAL…

NEW BATMAN MASTERPRINT, Nascar, Barbie & WHEELS AND WAVES 1!

Welcome to the week as we launch and all-new post Labor Day 1989 BATMAN BATMOBILE MASTERPRINT! This is Fireball’s original design for the film and now comes on Tees, Mugs and even Stickers! Hit the garage to see what’s HOT!

DID YOU KNOW?? For the production of both films, two cars were utilized before Warner Brothers commissioned three additional vehicles for publicity and promotional use including this one and the original just sold for a whopping $1.5 MILLION! It was built on two Chevrolet Impala chassis with Chevy V8s, and was based on and modified from a 1970 Corvette body when previous development with a Jaguar and Ford Mustang failed. A second car was based on an Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible.

Also today, Fireball does NASCAR, an insane EcoJET from the Great Dane Jumping School and BARBIE gets her own BAT! PLUS, Shots from Fireball’s first WHEELS AND WAVES SHOW!

Plus, today’s BEST OF SHOW is a gorgeous PONTIAC KUSTOM WAGON from The Ventura Nationals! WATCH!

Fireball leaves for RECON on Wednesday to give an ART TALK at Disneyland and then SOLDIERCON in Texas on Friday! He’s looking forward to seeing all you guys!!

Sorry we’re late on this one with an all-new BATSHAKER MASTERPRINT… but we’ve been at The Ventura Nationals all day! What a show and tons of content coming! But hey, even Batman needs a Hot Rod from time to time, and this one is inspired by Larry Wood’s BONESHAKER! Check it out in the Garage!

Plus, Fireball does up Gene Winfield’s WILD CAD and sketches THE BULLET for the Arizona Superbowl Committee! Will they actually build it??

And even though the Murphy Museum is now closed, memories of driving COOL CARS continues with Fireball about town in the Classic Jag! “Pardon me, do you happen to have any Scorpion Butch-laced Grey Poupon??”

DID YOU KNOW that Batman actually killed the MUNSTERS??

Seventy hysterical episodes of THE MUNSTERS were produced. But the show was canceled after ratings had dropped to a series low in the face of competition… which was ABC’s BATMAN. Yes, Batman was to blame, but The Munsters found a large audience in syndication over the next 50 years and cemented itself into Pop Culture History. And today, Fireball launches some new items IN THE GARAGE to keep that dark and creepy ball rollin!’ Our Favorite character?? SPOT.

The MUNSTER KOACH was made from 3 Model T bodies by George and is 18 feet long. It’s currently in the possession of the Barris Estate in Oxnard.

The 133″ frame was hand-made, has a four speed manual transmission and a power rear end. 350HP, 289ci Ford Mustang V-8 as a four-speed. Two four-barrel carburetors mounted on a Edelbrock Ram-Thrust manifold. The carburetors were mounted backwards in an effort to save space and the pull type throttle actuation modified into a pusher type. The Koach rode on a 133-inch wheelbase, was covered in BLACK PEARL PAINT, featured a coffin-like blood red velvet interior with four-row seating, and was just plain awesome. WATCH Fireball below take a close-up look. >>>

Today’s SKETCH comes from Fireball’s WACKY CAR SEMINARS with Kids. He visits Schools and asks kids to design a car with THEIR specs. This one came out as the STRAWBERRY RAPTOR ROCKET 5000!

Also featured is Fireball’s BLADE RUNNER themed MINI Cooper that premiered at the LA AUTO SHOW and built by legend Eddie Paul. Where is it now??

And finally, today’s BEST OF SHOW features this smokin’ hot all-original LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH.

BATMAN and ROBIN target EVIL VILLAIN TEAM UP for Purple Haze

To celebrate TONS of NEW 1966 BATMOBILE ART… Batman and Robin take on THE PURPLE HAZE…

The year was 1966 and Gotham’s famed crime-fighting duo, BATMAN AND ROBIN found themselves on a special mission in the sprawling city of Los Angeles. The Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder had received intel from Commissioner Gordon about a diabolical plot concocted by none other than Gotham’s notorious quartet of villains: The Penguin, The Joker, Catwoman, and The Riddler. And they called it THE PURPLE HAZE…

The dastardly plan involved a secret atomic dye agent that, once introduced into LA’s water supply, would turn every citizen purple. The villains intended this not only as a bizarre spectacle but also as a means to destabilize the city, knowing chaos would follow such an unusual and alarming event.

Batman and Robin, armed with their wits and an array of Bat-gadgets, quickly mobilized. Racing through the night streets of LA in the iconic BATMOBILE, they formulated a counter-plan: an antidote spray capable of neutralizing the atomic dye agent before it could spread beyond control. But it had to be done quick as it was UNSTABLE.

Meanwhile, high above the city, the villains cackled in their hidden lair, confident in their impending victory. The Penguin oversaw the deployment of the atomic dye agent, while The Joker and Catwoman reveled in the chaos unfolding below. The Riddler, true to his nature, delighted in leaving clues that only the keen mind of Batman could decipher.

As the tainted water began to flow through the city’s pipes and faces became purplized, turning faucets and fountains purple also, panic spread among the populace. But just as the villains gloated over their imminent triumph, the Bat-signal pierced the night sky. Batman and Robin swooped in, spraying their antidote from the Batmobile with precision and speed, but not without accidentally starting to turn purple THEMSELVES!

The dynamic duo faced off against their foes in a spectacular rooftop showdown, where punches were thrown, gadgets deployed, and riddles unraveled. KAPOW!! With the villains distracted, Batman managed to disable the device that controlled the atomic dye agent, while Robin apprehended The Riddler with a cleverly timed Batarang launch.

In the end, the citizens of Los Angeles were saved from a colorful fate thanks to Batman and Robin’s quick thinking and heroic efforts. The villains, defeated and deflated, were carted off to the awaiting police, as the Batmobile sped off into the night, leaving behind a city grateful for their masked protectors. That is… until they realize that the PURPLE DYE was only the beginning…

BATMAN FOREVER BATMOBILE… lasted for only ONE Movie

Sure, BATMAN FOREVER was a good title for the 2nd rendition for the caped Crusader in 1995. (This was the third film.) But for the BATMOBILEit wasn’t.

It made sense to the Studio that if they destroyed Batman’s vehicles, then they’d get to reinvent them for subsequent films… and toys. After all, it’s about making MONEY and we’re all suckers for cool cars. And they did make money. Lots of it….

The film was a box office success, grossing over $336 million worldwide and becoming the sixth-highest-grossing film of 1995. It was followed by Batman & Robin in 1997, with Schumacher returning as the director, Chris O’Donnell returning as Robin, and George Clooney replacing Kilmer as Batman.

Although screen-time for any BatCar isn’t a lot, the sinister blackness continues for lovers of CARS and SUPERHEROES through Hot Wheels, Model Kits and stuff. If you’re a fan of the Bat, then chances are that your home has some Caped Coolness.

We celebrate BATMAN FOREVER today with Fireball’s SKETCH of this 2nd Car. Although he DID NOT design this one as it was penned by Artist Tim Flattery, it falls into the realm of legend by being BIG, BLACK and BRUTAL. And now you can get it IN THE GARAGE!

DID YOU KNOW?? The Batman Forever Batmobile had a Chevy 350 ZZ3 high-performance motor. High compression, 345HP, aluminum heads, angled plugs and a good valve grind. The body was made from a high-temperature epoxy fiberglass laminate and all of the air was extracted though vacuum bagging.

BATMAN FOREVER BATMOBILE slithers into Fireball’s Garage

As I SKETCH my way through all the BATMOBILES over the years, I’m struck by how similar… and how different they are in design language. When I designed the 1989 Bat for the Tim Burton film, the description in the script of the time was LARGE & BLACK. That’s it. And so it is with all Bats.

Today’s SKETCH takes us back to the 3rd film BATMAN FOREVER and the Bat originally designed by Tim Flattery. But now with some revised Fireball Goodness for 2024. What do you guys think? Leave a Comment!

Get this super cool BATMOBILE on Mugs, Shirts, Canvas and even a BAT CLOCK! And be sure to check out all of the other BATS in the Garage! GO NOW!
