DID YOU KNOW?? Based on a real detective: The character of Dan Tanna was based on long-time Las Vegas detective Eddie La Rue. Tanna’s name was inspired by a favorite restaurant of the show’s producer, Aaron Spelling. The restaurant, “Dan Tana’s” on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, is still in business! Dan Tanna (Robert Urich) appeared in a backdoor pilot at the end of a Charlie’s Angels episode before Vega$ premiered. He was presented as a friend of Charlie and Bosley!
And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… The Ball chills with Ghostbuster’s ERNIE HUDSON in Hollywood, Automotive Legend GENE WINFIELD at a show in SoCal and back in the day with good friend GEORGE BARRIS at a Film Premiere. Some Legends may be gone, but their history lives on here in the Garage!

DID YOU KNOW?? The Ecto-1 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance/Hearse is a rare and iconic vehicle, with only around 400 ever built. And weighed nearly three and a half tons!! It was a behemoth, stretching 21 feet long, 8 feet high, 7 feet wide. Dan Aykroyd originally envisioned Ecto-1 as a sinister-looking, all-black hearse with purple and green lights, but the white and red color scheme was chosen due to the many nighttime scenes.

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Today… we head to VEGAS… baby, for some super cool Dan Tanna T-BIRD MASTERPRINT ART that screams… “I park my car IN MY LIVING ROOM!” Yup. Only in Sin City.
BUT DID YOU KNOW?? The ’57 T-Bird replaced a 1967 yellow Chevrolet Corvette that was Tanna’s car in the pilot episode. A car which ended up being destroyed by fire! Wups. Much of the series was filmed at Culver Studios in California, where a set was constructed to represent the Montecito. But some filming also (occasionally) took place in Las Vegas. The Mandalay Bay and Green Valley Ranch (two hotel-casinos in the Las Vegas Valley) were sometimes used to portray the Montecito. DING! WINNA…

This car has a very unique history and was Commissioned by Gregg Ovist of GEEZUP in Arizona… now a MASTERPRINT in the Garage! Gregg won the BENEDICT CASTLE George Barris Legacy Award with this Coupe last year and Fireball will be on hand this coming May to see more!
