DID YOU KNOW?? Sylvester Stallone had asked his Propmaster to create a knife that audiences would never forget. The knife was so sharp that Night Slasher actor Brian Thompson would often cut himself by accident! WUPS. One of these moments was caught on film, in which he tests the blade on his hand while saying, “She’s mine.” And the movie has a rare workprint also… which contained 30-40 minutes of footage not found in other versions, including all the X-rated material removed from the final release! PACHOW!!!

DID YOU KNOW?? Z06 stands for ZORA OPTION 6 or “Zora 06.” It’s the name of a package of features for the Chevrolet Corvette that was created in 1963 by Zora Arkus-Duntov, the car’s chief engineer. The Z06 was a secret package that allowed Corvette owners to race their cars and compete in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).

The CREATIVE PROCESS of CONCEPT ART & CAR DESIGN…
The creative process of CONCEPT ART & CAR DESIGN is a mesmerizing journey that begins with a blank canvas and culminates in the sleek lines and innovative features of a new automobile. At the heart of this process lies sketching and the development of concept art, where designers harness the power of drawing to expand their minds creatively and push the boundaries of innovation. SKETCHING serves as the cornerstone of car design, allowing myself to translate abstract ideas into tangible forms. It is a fluid, iterative process where initial concepts are brought to life through lines and curves on paper. These early sketches capture the essence of my vision, serving as the blueprint for further exploration and refinement.
But sketching is more than just a means to an end; it is a tool for unlocking creativity and challenging myself to envision new possibilities. By merging successful designs from the past with fresh ideas, I can push the envelope of innovation and create truly groundbreaking concepts. This process of synthesis and reinvention is essential for staying ahead in an industry driven by innovation and change.
Concept art takes sketching to the next level, allowing myself to explore ideas in greater detail and imbue them with personality and emotion. Through traditional and digital rendering, I can breathe life into concepts, refining every curve and contour until I achieve a variation of perfection. Concept art not only helps me communicate ideas to stakeholders but also serves as a source of inspiration and motivation throughout the design process.
The creative process of car design is inherently collaborative, with designers, engineers, and stakeholders working together to bring concepts to fruition. Drawing serves as a common language, allowing ideas to flow freely and sparking innovation at every turn. Whether it’s sketching ideas on a napkin or creating detailed concept art in a studio, drawing is a powerful tool for unleashing creativity and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

On today’s ART TALK LIVE, Fireball lays out this weekend’s events starting with CONEJO VALLEY CARS & COFFEE tomorrow and then to a Music Event in Santa Barbara, but Sunday is off the hook with MUSCLES & MOJO at the Murphy, PEP WILLIAMS Lowrider Photography Exhibit at the Malibu City Gallery and a Celebration of Fireball’s friend Derek Schimming who recently lost his life on PCH last week… at Legacy Park in Malibu. So… it’s an important weekend.
Light a fire under yourself and GET BUSY DOING WHAT YOU LOVE. The only thing that matters truly in this world is just that. LOVE. For your family, for your friends, for your lifestyle and yes… for CARS. Have a great weekend folks! (Can you name who that is with Fireball below??)

All LIVES are made better by adding CUSTOM CAR ART…
Now, we’re not talking WALL ART, but actual CARS. The seed of CUSTOM CAR ART that inspires us all…
People don’t change because we SHAME them, or make them WRONG or CRITICIZE them. People change when they are INSPIRED to change. Doing something that will EXPAND or ENHANCE their lives. And this is where CAR CULTURE is at it’s best. Even if you don’t like cars, seeing a VEHICLE as CUSTOM CAR ART is something you’ve never seen before… and it puts the MIND in DISCOVERY MODE.
This is what I love to do most. CREATE ART through CARS that inspires THE mind TO WANT MORE… as in a better experience. And this is what art does. It opens the mind to possibilities that did not exist previously. It unlocks an aspect of the mind that is connected to an unfathomable depth which brings an ever existing stream of MORE LIFE.
When I draw Custom Car Art, my mind asks “Have people ever seen this before?” “What would happen if I took what has been accepted and turned it on it’s ear to reveal something NEW?” And this should be every artist’s mission. To tap the endless well of unique ideas, kicking aside the stones of stagnation and repetition to reveal a bottomless pit of COOL.
Are you doing this? It’s easy to tell. Just ask yourself if you’re being fulfilled? Are you getting up at 4am and can’t wait to get to it? Are you busting out ideas at such a pace that it feels like your mind is ON FIRE. ‘Cause mine is… ALL.. DAY.. LONG.
It’s about the GIVE. Generating something new is about your mission to inspire more in people. To give them HOPE, FAITH and JOY from ART. So get off your ass and get busy with it… and it doesn’t matter if it’s a CAR, SALAD, BURGER or BUSINESS PLAN. Is it YOUR BEST??
If you’re not creating like a motherfucker, then you’re wasting time. If there isn’t a blazing inferno inside you that is dying to be SET FREE… then you have some serious work to do.
Today, we celebrate that concept with CAPTAIN OCTOROD and a few others outta the FIREBALL UNIVERSITY – Skool of Cool. SEARCH them out IN THE GARAGE and them get busy kickin’ the ass of the day. You’ll be glad you did, because the day needs to have his ass handed to him so he knows who’s boss. YOU. Stop fuckin’ around and GET SHIT DONE.

Great mix of stuff today, starting with some CONCEPTS. Anyone who says they are NOT creative is bolonie (Boloney? Bologna??). We are CREATIVE BEINGS and our job here on THE MARBLE is to GET SHIT DONE. If you can make an awesome Cheeseburger, then you’re creative. If you can build a business, you’re creative. If you can draw, paint, sculpt, take pictures or design your next vacation, you’re creative. The goal is to feed the RIGHT WOLF.
Just a couple of CONCEPTS here, but listen up to today’s ART TALK LIVE to get your juices flowin!’ PLUS, MOM’S DAY is coming up and there’s coolness IN THE GARAGE! If you’re a MOM, then we love you, period. But why be a regular Mom when you can be a SUPERMOM!! Git on it!

Whenever I get a a chance to develop ideas, I draw. It was something my mentor SYD MEAD told me many years ago. Drawing (or anything creative) puts you in the PRESENT MOMENT. And this is the ONLY place where ideas are created and solved. But not just creative actions… as SPORTS can do this too… if “your head is in the game,” as they say.
FIRST SKETCH up is a concept unibox with tweeked proportions. Toy-like, but it adds personality without making it look TOO MUCH like a toy. This could be a background car in a film, slightly intimating if brutalized a bit. Might have to explore this more…
SECOND is a sketch from my original VETTE Coloring Book on B&N here. Had some fun with controversial conspiracy theories. Is there a VETTE on the Moon? Ask MUSK. He’ll know. And spot any Easter Eggs?
