DID YOU KNOW?? Schwinn bikes have a rich history, from their beginnings as a family business to becoming an iconic American brand, with fun facts including the company’s shift to motorcycles and then back to bicycles. Ignaz Schwinn, a German-American bicycle designer, co-founded the Schwinn Bicycle Company in 1895 with Adolph Arnold. The iconic Schwinn Sting-Ray, with its high-rise handlebars, banana seat, and racing slick tire, was created in the 1960s, inspired by kids customizing their bikes to look like motorcycles. Hollywood stars like Dorothy Lamour became early ambassadors for Schwinn bikes, helping reestablish the brand as a market leader. The last U.S.-made Schwinn bike rolled off the production line in 1982.

The two beg for money outside a theater, as Ricky and his new bride drop coins in their cups. The season-three episode aired in 1953, four years before Beaver kicked off!

PARTRIDGE, Penelope, Panther, Weapons, Ferrari & Magnus!!
Get ready for an AWESOME WEEK here with Fireball’s AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE ART!! Startin’ the lineup with THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY BUS, Wacky Racer PENELOPE PITSTOP & THE PINK PANTHER!! Check out the MUGS by snappin’ those links and stay tooned for MORE COOL SKETCHES THIS WEEK!
DID YOU KNOW?? Penelope always has time to relax and worry about her looks, because her car is like a beauty parlor. Penelope Pitstop also has a habit of holding her arm out in the breeze to dry newly applied nail polish, which the others mistake for a turn signal (this habit once sent the Roaring Plenty into a cactus). *Joseph Barbera requested that a woman be added among the racers, so Takamoto and Jerry Eisenberg designed Penelope and her car in about two hours!!
Also in today’s PINKTACULAR BLAST… Fireball visited the home of Designer SYD MEAD many times over 40 years, and there were always cool things to see. On this day, it was an early prototype of Deckard’s Gun from BLADE RUNNER! Also, Fireball scootin’ the FAST & FURIOUS EVO #1 to shows… and now scoots THE BEAST through Ventura!! MARTIAN, #43, Hot Doggin,’ Furious, Mario & GODZILLA!
NEW SKETCHES COMING THIS WEEK! Plus, an all-new COLORING BOOK! So…. WELCOME TO AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY!! To celebrate the influx of coolness, let’s pop out MY FAVORITE MARTIAN, #43 RICHARD PETTY & everyone’s favorite OSCAR MAYER WIENERMOBILE! Who doesn’t want a Hot Dog on a MUG?
DID YOU KNOW?? Oscar Mayer, founded by German immigrant Oscar F. Mayer in 1883, is known for its iconic Wienermobile, a hot dog-shaped vehicle that has toured the US for over 80 years, and its famous jingle “Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener.” The Wienermobile, a hot dog-shaped vehicle, debuted in 1936, created by Oscar’s nephew Carl. In 2023, Oscar Mayer announced that the Wienermobile would be renamed the Frankmobile, but this unpopular name change was reversed four months later… ’cause Wiener is just so damn funny! And there are six total Wienermobiles in the United States, and only 12 “Hotdoggers” get to drive them each year.
Also in today’s WIENER WINNER BLAST… Fireball and Actor SUNG KANG from Fast & Furious discuss SEMA and new builds, The Ball scoots once again through Fountain Valley on a specially designed two-wheeled demon from Socal Pinstriper JEFF STYLES… and did you know that Fireball actually played SUPER MARIO in all the Commercials through the late 90’s and 2000’s? It’s his alter-ego!

MONKEES, Munsters, Mod Squad, McQueen’s Jag & DA PLANE!
Woo Hoo! It’s the weekend and that means HOOKEY… so Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Let’s slide right in with some great Fireball Art starting with THE MONKEES, MUNSTERS DRAGULA & MOD SQUAD!!
DID YOU KNOW?? The Monkees, initially a fictional band for the NBC sitcom “The Monkees,” became a huge pop sensation, selling more records than The Beatles and The Rolling Stones combined in 1967. They gained recognition for their catchy songs and the band members eventually pushed for and gained more control over their music, including playing their own instruments. The Monkees’ very psychedelic and odd movie in 1968 was written by none other than actor Jack Nicholson. It was a flop at the box office and only made $16,000 despite the show’s fame. Nicholson later revealed that he wrote the screenplay while on acid… so that explains it.
Also on today’s HEY, HEY BLAST… Fireball’s got a lottsa friends in Hollywood, but the BEST are the STUNTMEN & WOMEN! And here’s Bruce Willis Stunt-Double STUART WILSON! Fall down, PICK UP CHECK! Also, this great shot of STEVE MCQUEEN and his 1956 XKSS JAGUAR inspired Fireball to whip that puppy into shape… the result? Check out THE AWESOME SKETCH and how it looks MUGGED!
COMMISSION PROJECTS! This past year, Fireball belted out sketches for TRW & SEMA, this great BOB’S BIG BOY SEMI & the BUICK GRAND NATIONAL. What could he do FOR YOU?? REACH OUT NOW! askfireball@fireballtim.com

Fireball has literally done thousands of pieces of art for thousands of clients, so SEARCH OUT your fav or REACH OUT and tell him what he’s gotta SKETCH NEXT!! askfireball@fireballtim.com
DID YOU KNOW?? CBS was going to cancel the series after the first season because series star Mike Connors complained that this show was not very good at showing the consequences of violence. It also was the last television series to be produced by Lucille Ball’s production company, “Desilu.” But Lucille Ball used her power and influence to convince them to renew it for another season with the assurance that changes would be made. In the second season, Mannix was changed into a more hard-boiled independent private detective. The changes worked, and the series became a big hit running for eight seasons!!
Also in today’s HARD-BOILED BLAST… Were you a fan of THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN and BIGFOOT?? Oh, hell yea. Although… according to the Ball, he still needed a cool car! Also, a snap of Fireball with the MINI he designed for Speed Channel’s STREET TUNER CHALLENGE. It’s home now in Channel Islands!

BREAKING BAD ART, Bluebird Concept, Space Shuttle & On Set!!
Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY!! So many cool things happening in the garage… LET’S GET TO IT! First up, Fireball busts out the PONTIAC AZTEK from BREAKING BAD and doubles down with a one-off Concept called the FIREBALL BLUEBIRD! This will be in the Garage for a LIMITED TIME ONLY!
DID YOU KNOW?? In “Breaking Bad,” Walter White’s iconic Pontiac Aztek was deliberately chosen by the show creators to represent his declining character, as the Aztek is widely considered one of the ugliest cars ever made; the show’s creator, Vince Gilligan, specifically picked the car and even selected its distinctive “fern green” color to further emphasize this point. While considered an unattractive car before “Breaking Bad,” the show’s notoriety significantly increased the recognition of the Pontiac Aztek, making it a pop culture icon. Thus… SKETCHED!!
Also in today’s HEISENBERG BLAST… A Vintage snap of Fireball, Daryl Starbird and GENE WINFIELD on set for MONSTER GARAGE, the SPACE SHUTTLE lands on PCH and a great Art Piece for MANIACS GARAGE!
NEWSFLASH!! Fireball is now writing for CALABASAS STYLE MAGAZINE with an upcoming Article on Joe Magliato and his TRINITY HOT ROD. Plus, Journalist Etraordinaire Barbara Burke interviews Fireball for a an upcoming piece in THE MALIBU TIMES. Out soon!
COMMISSION ART!! Three pieces today of Classic Vintage Ball Art starting with THE TOMORROWLAND MAGIC EYE DIGSITE. Done for Disney Imagineering in ’92, this was the original concept before GALAXY’S EDGE. Tomorroland was to be a SPACEPORT! Also, a Concept for a client called THE ICICLE. Exploring new packaging and under-explored materials. And Fireball whipsnaps a ’70 VETTE for a Socal Cruiser.
ON SET!! Vintage BEHIND THE SCENES snaps of the film “ESCAPE FROM LA” with Kurt Russell. Fireball was responsible for CONCEPT and Storyboards with John Carpenter. This was the final scene at THE HAPPY KINGDOM BY THE SEA and shot at Courthouse Square at the UNIVERSAL BACKLOT!
And lastly… today’s BEST OF SHOW episode scoots Fireball to VISUALIZE VENTURA CARS & COFFEE! So cool, it HURTS!! WATCH below of on YOUTUBE!

URBAN OUTLAW, Mad Max, SPFX, Spock, Chevys, Dukes & ATeam!
Good Morning folks, and WELCOME TO AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Let’s launch outta the gate with Magnus Walker’s URBAN OUTLAW PORSCHE 277 and the MAD MAX MFP POLICE CAR! Imagine a chase with these guys through the night-time downtown Streets of LA! Now that’s a CHASE!
DID YOU KNOW?? The MFP (Main Force Patrol) Pursuit Special from Mad Max was a heavily modified Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe. Supercharged with 600 horsepower. The MFP is a small, underfunded group of highway patrol officers in a dystopian Victoria, Australia. But I guess they have enough funding for some serious cars!
Also in today’s PURSUIT BLAST… a Vintage snap with SPFX Wiz STAN WINSTON while working on a new film called “REGGIE” about a found Bigfoot Child which Stan was to direct. In development for several months, but sadly Stan passed away and the film dissolved.
Also… a MONSTER TRUCK PINTO? Well, why not? Plus, SPOCK loved cars and he especially loved his BUICK RIVIERA! Didn’t fit as many as the ENTERPRISE, but it was cool.
Today’s COMMISSION ART! This CHEVY MALIBU “CHEVHELL” client wanted something extreme… and that’s what Fireball does best! And a new version of Carson Lev’s 1960 CHEVY BEL AIR on a MUG! Should Fireball do more Collectible Chevy’s? LEAVE A COMMENT as to what you’d want him to SKETCH NEXT!
And lastly… rockin’ the Duke’s CHARGER through Malibu was a cool experience. Although nowadays might ruffle a few feathers… JUST A CAR, PEOPLE!
NEW BEST OF SHOW EPISODE TOMORROW and watch ART TALK LIVE this morning at 8am(pst) on FACEBOOK LIVE from Fireball’s Page!!
