DID YOU KNOW?? The actors on CHiPS actually did ride and Larry Wilcox was very competent… But after about the second season, and due to safety, they did almost all trailer shots… which always look terrible! But in the first season, you can often see the bikes moving independently as they talk on completely open freeways!

Because he’s James Bond and Goldeneye is his movie, that Aston Martin is allowed to keep pace as a red Ferrari 355 GTS appears in his mirrors. It takes some movie magic and a hefty suspension of disbelief that femme fatale Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) wouldn’t simply leave Bond in her rearview.
Perhaps Brosnan has a preference for Italian automobiles, given that a Ferrari 360 Modena appears in the introduction to his final film in the franchise, DIE ANOTHER DAY.

DID YOU KNOW?? 78 cars were wrecked in making the movie. One of the stunts wasn’t real, though. When Brian and Dom are racing across the train track as a train bears down on them, the two cars driving across the track and the train were shot separately. PLUS… The HONDA S2000 driven by Devon Aoki’s ‘Suki’ might not look familiar as underneath that coat of pink paint sits the exact same car piloted by Rick Yule’s Johnny Tran in The Fast and the Furious.

DUKE OF SPEED, Dick Van Dyke, Trek, Vader and KUSTOMS!
Car Party on, ppl! Automotive Pop Culture has never been stronger… and here at the FTG, our job is to feed the BEAST! So today, it’s an all-new DUKE OF SPEED MASHUP ART!! Imagine the Duke Boys getting a hold of Speed Racer’s MACH 5? Or maybe Speed got inspired by the Dukes runnin’ from the COPS? Either way… Coolness has a Cometh INTO THE GARAGE! But, there’s more…
DID YOU KNOW?? The Mach 5 was inspired by the Ferrari 250 TestaRossa, the Ford GT40, and the Aston Martin from James Bond. The car’s large red M on the hood is a tribute to Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune. In the original Japanese version, Speed Racer’s name is Go Mifune, after the actor. Go is a Japanese homophone for the number 5, which is also the number on his race car… and the yellow letter G on Speed Racer’s shirt represents the number 5!

While John Schneider and Tom Wopat were the ostensible stars of the show, both the actors and the show’s producers quickly found out that the main attraction was the 1969 Dodge Charger—dubbed the General Lee—that trafficked brothers Bo and Luke Duke from one caper to another. Of the 60,000 letters the series was receiving every month in 1981, 35,000 were addressed TO THE CAR!

Fireball busts out new DEATH RACE, Demolition, BATS & RATS!
Icons of AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE are vast, but originals never fail! And today, Fireball expands on DEATH RACE 2000 with this new MASTERPRINT depicting Frankenstein’s car in explosive bloody coolness! Were you a fan of Corman Movies? What was YOUR favorite??
DID YOU KNOW?? Death Race 2000 was a dystopian science-fiction action film about a cross-country race in the year 2000 where contestants kill people for points. The movie was directed by Paul Bartel and produced by Roger Corman. It starred David Carradine as “Frankenstein” and Sylvester Stallone as “Machine Gun Joe Viterbo.” Frankenstein’s car in the 1975 film was called THE MONSTER and was a custom-built, alligator-themed 1968 Volkswagen Beetle with a modified Corvette body, but powered by a flat-six Corvair engine with a reptile-scaled paint, spiked spine, and snake eyes for headlights! Sssss!!
