Chassis 558 was severely damaged during filming and was sent to a scrapyard, but was later discovered in Mexico and restored. Chassis 559, arguably the most famous Mustang in the world, sold for $3.7 million in 2020! A new “Bullitt” film is in the works, produced by Steven Spielberg, with Bradley Cooper starring.

Good morning and WELCOME TO AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Why drink out of a boring old Mug when you can snag ROBOTS with this great NEW ART of MAXIMILLIAN from the Disney Classic, THE BLACK HOLE! Yes, back when NEW IDEAS were flourishing and took us to the edge of the Universe! Check out the Coolness IN THE GARAGE NOW!

DID YOU KNOW?? The music for the film was composed by John Barry. With a production budget of $20 million, plus another $6 million for advertising, it was at the time the most expensive picture ever produced by Disney. In the early 1970s, the film was initially conceived as a space-themed disaster film, but many fans consider “The Black Hole” to be an unofficial spin-off of “Star Wars” because both stories took place in space and feature droids. The film had a record opening weekend for Disney, grossing $4.7 million from 889 theaters, and it earned $35.8 million in the United States and Canada. The film featured actors like Ernest Borgnine, Maximilian Schell, Robert Forster, and Yvette Mimieux.

And meanwhile, on PLANET FIREBALL… The Ball meets up with buddy and Executive Creative Director for Acura DAVE MAREK at the Honda/Acura Museum, PLUS, hits the Fuel for Life show to plop in a tiny CLASSIC FIAT 500! And WHEELS & WAVES is this weekend!! Don’t miss the Birthday Celebration!

TANGO & CASH, Malibu Pad Gone, Oscars & CAR SHOW SAFARI!

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE!! It’s Monday and Fireball’s whipsnapped an all-new SKETCH for you guys! Today, it’s TANGO & CASH!! In Hollywood, the saying goes… “The Movie May Suck, but the CARS are always cool!” (Doesn’t mean that T&C was bad, but you get our drift.) But who doesn’t love a COOL CUSTOM TRUCK, yo!

DID YOU KNOW?? Tango & Cash was plagued by production issues, including a fired director of photography, a fired director, and a re-edited script. The original casting choice was Patrick Swayze, but he chose Road House instead, so Kurt Russell was cast! Jack Palance was unhappy with his role in the movie, saying he had three scenes with Stallone but they were all cut. (Bummer, ’cause that dood was badass…)

Also in today’s BADASS BLAST… Fireball’s Malibu Pad IS GONE, thanks to the Palisades Fire. Two doors down is Adam Carolla and his survived. Over a thousand Fireball Vlogs were filmed there, but life goes on now in the 805… and it’s awesome. Live your Life, Pivot, and Keep Going. Things always GET BETTER.

Fireball hit Peter Kappen’s Cars & Coffee (VISUALIZE VENTURA Photo Studio) and the Donuts were rockin.’ BEST OF SHOW Episode of Cool Cars is coming this week! Where do the silly big OSCARS come from? Fireball and Uncle Joe Benson know the Top Secret Location! Plus, BEHIND THE SCENES of CHiPs gets a cool Fireball Mug and don’t forget about CORVETTE SUMMER, too!

Today’s CAR SHOW SAFARI takes the boys to the Automotive Ranch of DWAYNE BOWER up in Ojai! AMAZING!! Watch HERE in Facebook!

DID YOU KNOW?? The Bluesmobile was a 1974 Dodge Monaco sedan that was prominently featured in the movie. Director John Landis claimed that the portion of the final chase sequence filmed beneath the elevated train tracks was actually filmed at the speed indicated on the car’s speedometer! Real police officers participated, the stunt driving in the movie was all real, they used 13 different Bluesmobiles and more than 60 old police cars… and the movie held the record for the most cars destroyed in a movie at the time, with 103 cars wrecked!!

Also in today’s WE’RE ON A MISSION FROM GOD BLAST… Badassery continues with Fireball Car Show Peeps hitting WHEELS AND WAVES! This includes JONATHAN BANKS (Better Call Saul), JOHN PAUL DeGORIA (Paul Mitchell), Director and START TREK #1 JONATHAN FRAKES & Mustang Fan JOHNNY GALECKI!

DID YOU KNOW?? The Mustang is actually a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1, but it’s called a Boss 429 in the movie. Although it’s described at “HITMAN GRAY,” there are times where it’s GREEN too! We think it looks better in green also… But maybe Fireball should do a gray version!
