CHICACO hosts the fam thang…
Why Chicago? Well, this trip is my wife’s Mom’s Memorial. And it was her wish (Ruth) for the fam to get together in Chicago and do her memorial out on a yacht on Lake Michigan. So, fams from Florida, Jersey and us in Malibu came in to celebrate a life well lived.
Chicago was Ruth Allwardt’s favorite place. Where she lives and had family come in to see the incredible sites. And the Windy City is beautiful. Yesterday was 91 with thunderstorms which lit up the sky in spectacular fashion.
Again, a reminder that family is first… then, … everything else.
WATCH! TOTAL RECALL International Trailer is hot!
This trailer goes all out. Too bad there isn’t an Arnold cameo…
This day in Cool Design… George Yoo!
Up and comer George Yoo has some interesting concepts. Pretty cool stuff and I rarely feature just one designer. But George has a good eye, so let’s do the Yoo Thang…
CHICAGO… here I come!!
Thursday’s the day I get on a plane and head to one of my favorite cities. CHICAGEE. And there are a thousand reasons I love this town, but it’s on this trip that we’ll be doing some things that we’ve never done before. Case in point? Kayaking the Chicago River in between the skyscrapers! And that’s gonna be awesome…
But the one thing that is the coolest about Chicago happened over 100 years ago. And that was the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893. Otherwise known as the World Columbian Exhibition. Hundreds of things were introduced for the first time there including Cracker Jack, Waffles, Mass Electricity and more. It was the White City and subject of the new upcoming Leonardo Di Caprio film, DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY.
I’ll be posting daily from Chicago, all the coolness including sites, cars and such. And if you live there, then you might be able to meet up with us at the Billy Goat Tavern. Remember that? Where Saturday Night Live got “Cheezburgo, Cheezburgo, Cheezburgo, no Coke, Pepsi!”
Let me know if you’re in Chicago. I’ll be hitting Billy Goat, John Hancock, Sears Tower, Navy Pier, Sea Dog, Kayaking, Biking in Lincoln Park, Bandera on Michigan and more for 5 wild days. Let’s hook up for a joe…
This day in Cool Design… Malibu for Affleck
Coolness abounds with people starting from an initial idea. An inspiration. But what is inspiration …and where does it come from?
Well, those that are aware of it, know that we are simply channels of spiritual distribution. And since SPIRIT is life, then we are here to distribute life. In other words, we’re creative beings. Whether we create cool cars, hot action movies or spreadsheets. We CREATE. That’s our job.
So, here are some cool cars for today that have been created simply for your enjoyment, …doods. The above, I recently completed at Picture Car Warehouse for client, Ben Affleck. Oh, but there’s more…

BARRETT JACKSON explodes with insane cars!
Ok, it’s not like I was suggesting that Barrett Jackson blew up. Ok? I mean, you get that, right? Do I have to explain myself?
No?
Ok, good. Then what I WILL say is that the show BLEW UP WITH COOL CARS! So, there… Great to meet up with awesome builder, Rick Abate and his gorgeous Azure ’67 Caddy! Check out the photo below!
WATCH! SUPERBUS is a hi-speed hoyty-toyty transport…
Seen here on the Dubai AutoDrome, this wild vehicle was developed by researchers at the Delft University of Technology in Holland and can transport 23-people at speeds in excess of 155mph. And cost $10 million. That’s a lot of cash, but it’s 100% electric and has it’s own dedicated highway. I’d go on it, wooden shoe?
WATCH! Great interview with Joe Kelly from DIECASTX Magazine…
