What the heck is that? Oh… it’s FUTURETECTURE
Fans often email me and ask if I came up with the term Futuretecture? And I always say… YES! It comes from the latin root futrticturos meaning Designing Cool Stuff that you can Walk in, Check out and then Instagram your Friends Repeatedly! Seriously. See, I’m so on the ball it’s not even funny.
No, I didn’t come up with it. I think. But, if I did, that would be cool, eh? HEY! How about some coolnesss?
This week’s BEST CONCEPT CARS…
So much coming out right now due to the Frankfurt Auto Show and it’s all cool. Manufacturers and individual designers have been working diligently to create concepts that will blow your mind. Some, more than others. Here’s a few from Volvo (Above), Toyota’s SUPRA Concept, Aston Martin, Cadillac, Infinity, KIA & Terracraft…
MALIBU FARM on the Pier wins out over Best View and Best Grub… #malibu @Malibufarm
Yesterday, Kathie and I went to the opening of MALIBU FARM on the Malibu Pier. We actually ended up being they’re very first customers at the door (No, we didn’t cut in line…) and getting our picture taken. Owner Helene Hendersen (An awesome Local Chef) greeted us with a huge smile along with her son Casper and co-worker Isaiah Seay. Right off the bat, these guys were excited to have us and meant business.
We stood in front of the first service counter and went over the new dishes that were available for the soft opening, and to our good vibrations, we locked into the Quinoa Oatmeal and Swedish Pancakes with Whipped Cream and Raspberries. (I bet you can guess which one I had…)
The place was beautiful, done up in rustic old Malibu style with great local’s only products lining the walls. Everyone was jazzed and the energy was high to get things just right as people started to pour in after us. We sat outside with a spectacular view of 1st point Malibu and waited with eager anticipation, along with a new friend named Rich whom we just met at the next table. We conversed about Lobsters, Diving and Karate for about 10 minutes when it happened…
The Swedish Pancakes, man… The Swedish Pancakes.
Now, I love to eat. And I love to eat well. That means I have a very high standard for good food, especially pancakes. These babies were piled high and looking so awesome that my hands were trembling as I was trying to Instagram them. But alas, I managed. And then I chowed down like a Wiener Dog to a hot dog. The tiny cakes were enveloped in pure maple syrup, whipped cream and I added a dash of thick coconut milk from Kathie’s Oatmeal… which was freakin’ awesome also, btw.
About 2 seconds later, and after about 20 of those lil’ pancakes, I was done and flabbergasted. Not only does MALIBU FARM have the best view in town of the beach, these two dishes kicked my tasties into the extreme high gear. If I wasn’t headed for Chicago tomorrow, I’d be back for more.
But… as Arnie says, “I’ll be back.” For more Pancakes, that is.

Man, I love to travel. And honestly, I don’t really care where…
But tomorrow… Sunday, Kathie and I are off to Chicago to celebrate her Birthday… um, BirthWeek as she puts it. The plan is to just have fun. So… if I must.
We’re gonna Bike, Paddleboard, Kayak, Eat, Walk, Shop, Swim and anything else we can think of for a week. Post if all to Instagram, so should be some cool cars in there, too. Byeeeeeeeee….

• It’s Official. Bradley Cooper is Rocket Raccoon in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Man, he’s got a lot of weight to lose…
• INTERSTELLAR details… Set in the future, the movie details the toll climate change has taken on agriculture, with corn the last crop to be cultivated.

MALIBU SURF SHACK is all fun… all the time
During the summer, it can be a pretty crazy thing to try and figure out what to do on the weekends. So many activities and so many places you can go. But this is a post about my absolute favorite here in town…
Friends Sean and Leslie Weber own MALIBU SURF SHACK by the Malibu pier. A one stop shop for all things cool since 1972. But there’s more to these two than just Kayaks, Paddleboards, Surfboards, Bikes and TONS of unique ocean equipment. There’s an energy of anticipation that goes beyond any place I’ve experienced on the west coast.
The moment you walk into The Shack, you can feel a powerful excitement and fun about to take place. Sean’s hands are moving in a blur as he directs his team to each new group like a madman directing a Blockbuster film. Leslie is like a pocket rocket as she skirts up and down from their main store to lower their annex’d surf shop.
People from all over the world come to explore something they’ve never done before. Europeans who’ve never been surfing, Australians that have never been in a Kayak (Like that was even possible) and locals that have still yet to Paddleboard (My new fav in the whole world). I had to wait a week for the shop to be empty enough in the morning to get any shots at all. But 5 minutes into my shoot came an onslaught of eager ocean seekers… and I was done.
The lightning speed that these two have in securing your fun is overwhelming. They are committed to GIVING you the ultimate experience with whatever you choose, plus provide the most unique Malibu and ocean based products they can get they’re hands on, including my Kathie’s Surfboard Soaps on a Rope! There are things in this place that you just can’t get anywhere else.
The team consists of Sean, Leslie, their family and a group of strapping surfers like Warren to cater to whatever you need to make your ocean experience the best and most fun possible. There’s just no surf shop like it on the west coast, possibly anywhere.
Do yourself a favor and take a pop into the Shack to see what I’m talking about. GIVING is what Malibu Surf Shack is all about, and in return, you’ll get an experience you’ll never forget. And make sure to bring a camera ’cause you’ll want to take a picture of just about everything.
Sci Fi MR. NOBODY Trailer… What Sci Fi should be…
